Absolutely terrible experience with this company

I have a company Pension with Aviva and because I retired over a year ago I decided to take the TFC and set up a drawdown account also with Aviva. I was given a tree to six week time frame but was told that because I had sent everything to them quickly it should be sorted in a couple of weeks. As I was going abroad around 5 weeks later I thought that should be ok. I had already had a bad experience with SJP and was hoping Aviva would be better. I was wrong if anything Aviva are worse, I am now seven weeks waiting with no response from Aviva. I have complained but they have not sent any confirmation of my complaint, no atttempt to resolve and no updated or apologies. Terrible service and after speaking with their complaint department, it’s completely their fault as they were incapable of filling the paperwork out correctly? Reviewed on: 8th September 2026

Appalling level of service from a major provider.

Appalling level of service from a major provider. A telephone system that keeps you holding on forever and poorly trained responders who have no idea what’s going on even when it’s recorded on a screen in front of them. Not what I expected from a major pension provider. They have now missed 3 deadlines to sort it. Off to the FCA to lodge a complaint now. Reviewed on: 26th August 2026

SIPP pension

SIPP pension - I had taken out a SIPP pension as I am a contractor, and chose Aviva due to their good reviews. This was just before the Oil crisis, but despite the ups and downs of the volatile markets due to wars in the middle east, the fund has been growing and I am pleased with the returns/profits.
