Making contact

1
Avoid like the plague, 3 days in a row I’ve been trying to discuss my pensions and been on hold over an hour each time and have not yet been able to talk to a person. I want my money this rate I’ll be in my box before I get to speak to anyone. Bloody ridiculous. Ombudsman I think next step Reviewed on: 10th February 2023

Impossible to draw pendion

Tried for 3 months to get a small pension of £2000. Dreadful customer service over an hour on hold. Constant delays after sending forms ,signed for, to make sure they received them. Complaints ignored not interested. Husband did eventually get his pension. After constant delay. My small sum is still not paid. Would never recommend this company. Have also spoken to many people having same problem. Mix of inefficiency and holding on to peoples money for gain I suspect.Thank goodness I did not have substantial pension with them. I have a teachers pension this was so easy to claim. Reviewed on: 5th February 2023

Pension performance 2022

Just received my pension statement that shows the value has dropped by nearly 25% in a low risk fund. This can only be through utter negligence and incompetence and Aviva owe all pension holders an explanation, apology and restitution, none of which will happen. I suspect the Execs remain happy though while they presided over what is best described as a fully predicable car crash. Reviewed on: 25th January 2023

very bad company almost impossible to get through on the phone at times avoid . Reviewed on: 23rd January 2023

My worst investment decision ever.

What can you say about a pension company that over a period of the lowest interest rates in history would have been comprehensively thrashed by a building society savings account! Put your money somewhere else, anywhere else. P.S. I have given them 1 star because I had to. Reviewed on: 19th January 2023

Poor, very poor

Poor, very poor performance. They do not know what they are doing. Do not go there Reviewed on: 12th January 2023

More interested in being woke than protecting your money

2
I has some spare cash after an endowment ended last year. I put £4000 into Aviva and used a couple of thousand to buy and sell shares with City Index. I have now lost a few hundred pounds in Aviva (I ended up drawing £2000 back out because the value was plummeting). I did, however make a few hundred buying and selling shares myself in the likes of RBS. So, if an amateur investor like me can make a good profit, why are Aviva "experts" doing so badly? The occasional emails explaining market conditions don't really hold weight when I have managed to make money myself. The fact that their website and advertising gives the impression they'd rather concentrate on being woke than protecting your investment makes them all the more annoying. Big loss across a couple of years

The pension has declined - so there is now over 10% less in the pot relative to what went in from Salary. They appear to have done worse than if they had made blind choices in the market as far as i can tell. And been paid for the privilege. I worked hard for that money and they lost it. Not good.
