However, pensions are a nightmare with slow, confusing processes and poor communication. Health insurance is a major pain point with dreadful customer service and claim delays. Home insurance claims often face frustrating delays and poor support.

To date I have been trying to chase the monies on a cancelled life policy. From the date of cancellation I was informed that I should allow some 14 days before receipt of my money. One month later some 10 phone calls and approx 2 hours later I am no further forward. I have asked for proof that the money has been sent to me as my bank is asking for the CHAPS Id number, after a month of chasing they are still unable to provide me with it. The customer service department (if you can call it that) stating that it will take up to 5 working days to obtain this number, still waiting. Asked to speak to a manager (twice) informed that I will have to wait up to 8 hours to have a conversation. All promises have never been fulfilled. if you value your sanity I suggest you do not take out a policy with Aviva. Read more Read less

They refuse to tell us what the amount to cover emergency clean up for flood damage is. Sent a very unprofessional clean up crew who showed up with a broom, tool box and some vapor barrier and Mc Donald's for breakfast. We had about 4ft of water (that my husband and I cleaned up.) They obviously did not come properly prepared .When we phoned our insurance for a referral to another company they told us to pay for it ourselves and submit the bill. But would not give us a price on what they would pay. We do not have 10 or 20 thousand in our pocket. This is absolutely one of the worst experiences you can imagine. Companies will not touch us without the insurance claim being sent to them and aviva refuses to do it. The adjuster (this flood happened on july 28 with a second on august) the adjuster is not coming until August 10. The mold is steadily growing up the walls and as at the time of this post there is no hope in sight. Read more Read less

Usual pension accumulation. Things worked fine but I did not have to have an interaction with the back-office. That changed once I wanted my money to be transferred to my bank account outside the UK but within the EU. You will not believe me when I tell you that more than six months have passed and I still do not have my money! They hide behind "regulation" and "procedures" for "my" protection. Factually, they have humanoid robots in their back-office who do not even read when you explain to them that things are a tad different in Germany. They let me NOTARIZE my bank statement, passport, and my great grandmother's birth cirtificate! I did! Then, six months later, they send me the same forms as before, asking for the same documentation as from the outset! When you explain to them that this was all sent months ago, they tell you that you have to get a fresh set of docs. The "old" ones are void because they wasted all the time. I have experienced a lot of disorganised, unaccountable, unfriendly, unhelpful companies but AVIVA pension leads the pack. I am shocked and disgusted by the lack of interest, the unfathomable incompetence of "staff", the unwillingness to solve a non-standard procedure and the utter lack of organisational accountability. I have the suspicion that this is methodical!!! They either dont have the money anymore or just want to keep it ad infinitum! I can only recommend not to save your monies with this bad excuse of a financial insititution! NEVER AGAIN! Read more Read less

    Flawless execution and support

Flawless execution and support throughout the whole process from start to finish. No complaints about the level of help or the price. Nothing more to say really but “well done!”

It’s very reassuring to have this policy in place

There was definitely a stigma around it and I wasn’t sure whether we would actually end up using it but God oh my God we ended up getting a policy. Since inception we’ve had to use it twice and both times the care and attention that we’ve had has been exceptional. Everything has been super quick. All of our concerns have been taken care of and we feel like any issue is no problem at all. Read more Read less

Very disappointing experience with Aviva. Trying to withdraw my money turned into an unnecessarily long and frustrating process. It felt like every step was designed to put me off rather than help me access my own funds. The phone call took far longer than it should have, with repeated questions and unnecessary delays. To make matters worse, the advisor came across as dismissive and subtly rude, which made an already stressful situation even more unpleasant. Withdrawing your own money shouldn’t feel like such a battle. I expected a much smoother and more professional experience from a company like Aviva. Read more Read less
