About this product

Aegon offered a Retiready Pension which was withdrawn for new customers from December 2023. For existing customers, it has a maximum service charge of 0.5% per year.

Where's the Regulator?

Aegon has to be the worst reviewed UK Pension Provider. 12 months later my wife's contributions still only covering fees with a dwindling fund. These people need outing Reviewed on: 22nd October 2023

Retiready - Just Bombing - No Management???

Aegon transferred me from a plan that was really doing and growing well into their retireready product. Since whichmy pension pot has collapsed and continues to Bomb. 2 years ago it was worth 55,000, now its worth 32,000. They continue to take high management fees each month which adds to the monthly losses. Communication is shocking and no assistance at all. There is no management of my funds at all, they are just holding it and letting it loose value each month. Seems they took the decision to transfer me into retireready aimed at the annuity market, when I don't want an annuity? I am really concerned , have tried to call and email many times to discuss my concern all to no avail. Very very poor and concerning. Lost 20k in 2 years, with no one monitoring it, rIsing the issue or providing options???? Reviewed on: 19th October 2023

White collar crime

I echo all the comments previously and can only imagine that the intermittent 5 star ones are not bona fide .The only communication i have is my persistent calls to follow up action i have been asked to take.There is something very wrong with this organisation and the deliberate delays .I have made a complaint and it has not been responded to .I have been told attachments weren't on my emails when they were .The list is endless.I will say that the customer service have been polite and have tried to assist within the limited access they have to do so .I am happy to add a further review should i receive my pension sum on the 7th November '23 as indicated .Watch this space ! Awful company

Part of my company pension was transferred to Aegon . I had no choice in the matter I was told by the company pension scheme all AVC’s were being looked after by another company AVC’s stands for Added voluntary contributions. After the money being held for around 27 years I have found out to my horror that it isn’t worth a carrot due to devaluation of funds & charges since Aegon took charge of my money. I now find my self at the age of almost 62 needing my money however when I phoned the company to complain I couldn’t talk to any one who is willing to discuss this matter with me . I am now seeking advice from pension wise as to what to do as the fund has devalued to virtually nothing . Absolutely disgusting company avoid them at all costs. TOO BAD THERE'S NO "ZERO" RATING

This is the worst company on the planet to be handling money. None of their "customer service" staff have a clue what galaxy they're in or how to handle a pension pay-out. I've been applying since July for a very modest cash amount and spoken to half a dozen people who each say something different. I find now going into OCTOBER that the forms they sent weren't sufficient whilst the woman said last week the proceeds would be paying into my account by Friday. The government should be seizing this outfit and taking control of the funds before it's too late for the poor people who've invested with retirement in mind. No likelihood at all that they'll ever see their money - as I've not seen mine in three months and it's a relatively small amount. Reviewed on: 28th September 2023

Ignorant customer service team

Emails to try and track down my pension have been completely ignored despite the fact that both the Pension Tracing Service and HR department from my former employers both telling me I'm with Aegon. Has been over two weeks now and have sent multiple emails, which have all been ignored. I'm expecting to die of old age before they get back to me. No paper correspondence at all over the last 5 years means I don't have a policy number to hand which I guess puts me in the "let's ignore this guy and keep his money" folder. Annoying

This is the most annoying @ stressful company to deal with . I’m trying to access my pension pot , they seem to think it’s their money & not mine . Obstacles put in my way by them not updating their system despite numerous emails, online chat & phone calls . I would never recommend these people . Reviewed on: 15th September 2023

5 working days to send an email

I've never had an interaction with Aegon where I felt I came away with a positive outcome. I've just come out of a call where I confirmed and accepted a pension offer. It will now take them 5 days to email me a form that I need to print, sign and scan back as a pdf. No problem there, but why do all their processes seem to be designed to be slow and hinder? Hellish company

I have been trying for the best part of 4 weeks to take my pension pot but have been obstructed by aegon due to the system they use not identifying my bank account. I know need to send them a bank statement from Yorkshire Building society detailing my account number and sort code. No matter how many times I have told them that the sort code is not on YBS statements they insist on asking for the same statement and won't settle my pension. Meanwhile the amount in my pension is going down due to the charges they charge me. Reviewed on: 6th September 2023
