About this product

Aegon offered a Retiready Pension which was withdrawn for new customers from December 2023. For existing customers, it has a maximum service charge of 0.5% per year.

Not a happy bunny

I had a retire ready pension with Aegon ( transferred over from a vg company but I had no say in this decision because it was a work pension) and I must say that they just took money from my pot to invest elsewhere but the investments never worked, once 14,000 went missing so I had to phone them up and the next day it was returned. No customer service at all, they dont want to give you your money (25% pot) even if they do they say to HMRC that is taxable and you have to run back to HMRC to get your refund, if you are lucky. Is the only company I see with 64% bad reviews. Manage to get half my money out from them with pension transfer to another company, they could not stop it. Now try get the other half. I will do the same. I only kept them with them because the investment is doing good. My old company pension allowed me to invest to parts of their plan. Their charges are high, if your plan is not doing good, then you loose your money on their charges. General this company should be closed by the government because they are not providing any service or support to people who have money with them. How they are able to trade for long. DO NOT USE.... Poor and embarrassing performance management

Being theirs customer many years , first contributed through employer then changed my employer but continue contribution as personal pension until my funds is matured and about right the time for me to settle. Requested a settlement quote. Aegon sending me 4 different quotes withing 3 days in 1 requested , in each quotes has lost its values. Reviewed on: 14th January 2024

Stressful no empathy or speed

Made a withdrawal request from my pension pot, received a timely letter detailing a payment date. Nothing arrived. On the 3rd telephone call Nick told me this has been marked urgent and it will be worked 14th. For thousands of pounds go missing in the hands of Aegon UK, the give me a date a week later to look into it. Makes it sound like they are doing me a favour. I decided to put in a compliant and Nick rang me back with a 48 hour time line for it to be worked. That will take me into next week and continue to worry until it's resolved. They do not care even when it's there fault, no empathy no sense of urgency. I'm still awaiting on an appeal after Aegon delayed a payment to me resulting in £2000 tax bill. Backward company operating in 20th century

I was traced by dwp for an old workshop pension 44 years old. I was asked to SEND DOCUMENTS BY POST, Passport, marriage certificate, NIN, bank details all certified. Sent re Ord delivery, re eived on 17th but documents can't be found it will take 10 DAYS to Trace. I asked for an email to send documents they don't have one, I asked for the telephone number of the branch in Sunderland whRere I sent the documents do I could trace, they don't have one. Retiready - Just Bombing - No Management???

Aegon transferred me from a plan that was really doing and growing well into their retireready product. Since whichmy pension pot has collapsed and continues to Bomb. 2 years ago it was worth 55,000, now its worth 32,000. They continue to take high management fees each month which adds to the monthly losses. Communication is shocking and no assistance at all. There is no management of my funds at all, they are just holding it and letting it loose value each month. Seems they took the decision to transfer me into retireready aimed at the annuity market, when I don't want an annuity? I am really concerned , have tried to call and email many times to discuss my concern all to no avail. Very very poor and concerning.
