About this product

Aegon offered a Retiready Pension which was withdrawn for new customers from December 2023. For existing customers, it has a maximum service charge of 0.5% per year.

It's impossible to contact this company. I have my pension fund with them and need to ask some questions but just can't get hold of them. Tried the online chat endlessly and they just keep you waiting then disconnect you Reviewed on: 17th July 2024

Deliberately poor customer service; emails - no response; web chats wait multiple times for minimum 15 mins, no actual queue, then they said they can't do xyz send you to somewhere else; call the right number eventually, put me on permanent hold to close the account. Reviewed on: 10th June 2024

not customer friendly, it is purely about the interest rate, if the customer wants to pay something off, they will ask a lot of questions, how do you get the money... discrimination, if changes are to the customer's advantage, never inform the customer, if the customer calls Aegon to ask a question, Aegon asks money to answer your question is, in short, disgusting...etc Reviewed on: 28th May 2024

Do not use Aegon for your pension funds, advised they had paid my 25% tax free into my bank, kept checking bank account and not there, checked with bank and they advised no pending transactions from Aegon, now have to wait more business days for it to be investigated, so unprofessional this organisation Reviewed on: 13th May 2024

Fund Went from 34000 to 19000 and has only recovered...

Fund Went from 34000 to 19000 and has only recovered to 21000 ( have paid in nearly 29000) supposedly in the low risk fund.. Still charging me of course for their expert advice. Had I just banked it would have 40000 instead of 21000. Reviewed on: 29th February 2024

Aegon has to be,one of the worst preforming pension companies. If you want to loose money invest it in Aegon pension. My workplace pension is,with them and is loosing money each day. I have asked AEGON for help but they aren't interested. I have been with them for 1 year and hVe losted 8% I'm now waiting 2 weeks for forms to opt out Reviewed on: 28th February 2024

Worst pension experience ever!

Worst pension experience ever! First off they sent me someone else’s pension summary. Retired in November and filled out the forms online because I was told it would be faster ( at least four weeks in total) Had to send off many emails stating I wished to opt out of my pension and collect. I had to do a lot of work myself with my employer payroll to make sure emails were sent so doing Aegons work for them! Lots of conflicting information given I’m sure to pacify me when I phoned the support team, told I would be receiving a letter confirming my payout a week before receiving my lump sum - never happened, phoned yesterday as I was told it would be going into my account- didn’t happen rang again, told it would be there by 6 pm - never happened. I have still no idea on how much I will receive as apparently you get the letter after it’s gone in ??? Why? So 3 months on from retiring I am still waiting! Unfortunately I have only just read the reviews for this company, I wonder how much longer I will have to wait, so yes they like to receive your money but a different matter on giving it back. Not a happy bunny

I had a retire ready pension with Aegon ( transferred over from a vg company but I had no say in this decision because it was a work pension) and I must say that they just took money from my pot to invest elsewhere but the investments never worked, once 14,000 went missing so I had to phone them up and the next day it was returned. The staff were cocky and rude and I certainly wouldn’t recommend them Reviewed on: 23rd January 2024
