Review of the Autonet Insurance, Insurance Broker:

Shambles

1
Absolutely shocking company. One of the most incompetent companies I have ever dealt with professionally ever. Took me over 2 weeks to try and pay my insurance and still no resolution they say finance company needs payment finance company say they need accept payment. No one has a clue. Absolute Shambles avoid at all costs!!!! Reviewed on: 19th July 2023

Absolutely awful company

1
Gross overcharging, I wish I read reviews prior to taking insurance Reviewed on: 23rd April 2020

Rip off charges

1
They are a broker, so you can't change anything yourself online - it has cost me £37.50 to change my address! Do not use them without realising their charging policy! Reviewed on: 8th April 2020

Cancel policy at your peril!

1
Been with this company for 15 years. Had to cancel a policy for the first time (as cutting down costs) Paid £356.00 in September, so have 6 months left. Expecting to get a fair refund. But no i got £1. Yes £1 with 6 months remaining. The girl with attitude said £80.95 to Autonet and £56 to underwriter. I pointed out that this is so unfair and that can they waive any costs as spent thousands with them, plus i have other policies with them. She came back in double quick time! said no its £1. I will NEVER deal with this company again Reviewed on: 30th March 2020

Overcharging and terrible service

1
Blatantly overcharged on renewal, cancelled the policy without chance to settle 1 case of arrears, then charged a fortune through forced cancellation, awful customer service, avoid at all costs Reviewed on: 25th February 2020

Biggest Scammers Out There !!!!!!!!!!!

1
I wanted to get my NCB proof from them to transfer my insurance. Forget calling them as the y keep you on the phone and charge you a fortune while you're waiting. I went on live chat and even got an email of proof of my communication online. On three occasions i was let down. They are the worst company I have ever come across. Thank God my new insurer Direct Line were fantastic. They didn't charge me a penny for having no proof straight away and waited six weeks. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM AUTONET !!!!!!!!!!! GANGSTERS. Awful unethical company

1
Awful unethical company. Avoid at all costs! Autonet are charging us £260 to add a driver to the policy (this is a safe-no risk middle aged male driver with no convictions, no driving offences etc). Our other vehicle insurance just added him for free. I requested that they let me cancel the policy so we can go elsewhere, but they will charge £80 to cancel. I have gone through all the complaints and they are not budging. Completely crooked and unprofessional. Reviewed on: 7th November 2019

Outrageous charges

1
I took out a policy in March and paid for the whole year at about £270. We changed our car in September and they wanted a further £189 for the final 7 months. I understand the car is newer and costs more however I decided that was very expensive so cancelled. For the remaining 7 months they refunded me £8 when, after a long discussion said they would refund nearer to £50. I would not recommend this company at all. Their charges are outrageous!!! Fraudulant and hidden charges, and that's just the start.

1
An absolute disgrace of an insurer from start to finish, acting fraudulently and trying to get away with it. Refused to accept proof of no claims, arguing that it was being used on another vehicle, when it wasn't. Made my Mother feel so intimidated and upset that she cancelled the policy and moved her business elsewhere. All this because of Autonet's threats to cancel the policy, despite having submitted the no claims satisfactorily and within the time frame specified. The documents clearly state 'you may cancel within 14 days OF RECEIVING YOUR POLICY DOCUMENTS!' The policy was cancelled within 8 days of receiving the documents, as we receive documents by post. Autonet now arguing that we have documents online, when we do not - our documents were selected to be received by post. Yet another fraudulent excuse to charge an extra fee! Hidden charges for cancellation from the underwriter too that are NOT detailed in the policy paperwork. Autonet cancellation fee, underwriter cancellation fee and over-inflated time on cover fee that does not amount to the number of days on cover on a pro-rata basis. £435 policy to start with and a £281 refund after cancelling within 15 days, only 5 days after receiving the documents. £154 charged for cancelling a policy due to Autonet's own refusal to accept a formal document from the previous insurer and accusing a policy holder of being a liar. An absolutely ridiculous amount. Hidden charges, fraudulent charges and very poor customer service. Fraud and theft by deception at it's finest. Reviewed on: 19th October 2019

Steer clear of Autonet

1
Bought car insurance through compare the market with auto net paid £250 next day they sent car insurance documents and they increased premium to £340 because a non fault accident wasn’t declared so phoned them they said they wouldn’t remove the £90 extra they charged as it was the broker that charged them so I went back online corrected error on application and insurance quote came through at £275 , £65 cheaper , they still weren’t interested so I wanted to cancel policy they said it would cost £50 I said the policy hadn’t even started yet so she got her manager and reduced it to £20 cancellation charge so needless to say I went with a more trustworthy company the RAC . Who are these morons working in these businesses making stupid decisions and ultimately losing a sale ? Reviewed on: 14th May 2019

Incompetent and unreliable

1
Incompetent and unreliable insurance broker. This broker failed to pass the correct details of my insured vehicle to the insurance company. A claim I made was initially rejected by the insurance company and my policy was voided. This came as a direct result of the incompetence of Autonet Insurance services not correctly recording my insurance requirements. I would give them no stars if I could. If you don’t want the risk of problems with your insurance policy don’t use this company. Reviewed on: 19th April 2019
