Our hand luggage was lost travelling to our return flight. Our original 8pm flight the previous day was aborted and we had to stay in a hotel which we reached at 4am. We were up at 6.30 for our new return flight at 10.30am. The bus provided didn’t get us to the airport till 15 minutes before takeoff. We were tired, frazzled and worried we would miss the flight so somewhere between the bus and getting wheelchair assistance the bag was l.ost. There was no time to report it as the plane was being held for us. This was February 2023 and Aviva could not have been more difficult regarding our claim. We are in our eighties and this is the first travel claim we have had. Giving up on it now as we can’t do with the stress but I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole again Reviewed on: 23rd March 2024

Basic claim submitted and can't get a reply

Simple basic claim for doctors appointment whilst in Oz. Swab taken and prescription given. The information they want from me, like the cost of the flights, each leg of the journey is ridiculous. They have not responded since I sent all the documents. I am very disappointed with them, even more so as I thought I took out holiday insurance with HSBC Reviewed on: 10th March 2024

Woefully inadequate insurance - have had Aviva Worldwide Travel Insuance for 20 years and have just had to use it and found it to be terrible. £200 cover for stolen passports - to include emergency do mental. (£100), accommodation(you need at least 3 days) and flight home (don’t make me laugh). When I get home I’m changing my bank account, my insurance and recommending everyone I know to not touch TSB or Aviva with a barge like. What a bunch of charletons - you should be ashamed. Easy to use and helpful

I had my phone damaged when I was on holiday and got myself a refurbished like for like phone and thought I would have a battle get the money but no very quick and helpful just sent what was asked and then money was paid ( always replace with refurbished dont ask for new ) Very happy Reviewed on: 27th October 2023

Aviva are more interested in finding someone else to pay your claim than paying for it themselves

Having a genuine claim with a flight cancelled due to a fire at Luton Airport, Aviva have not tried to validate my claim, but told me to speak to multiple other parties before they will even consider it. What is the point in paying for travel insurance if all Aviva do is adopt a sloped shoulder approach to the claims. I am very very disappointed with there service and will be reviewing all my other products that I have with this company Reviewed on: 17th October 2023

AVIVA WILL PICK AND CHOOSE WHO TO PAY OUT!

⚠️WARNING!! DO NOT GET TRAVEL INSURANCE WITH Aviva!!! ⚠️ Absolute disgrace of an insurance company! Had to make a claim on our travel to Kenya in Dec 22 due to our original flights being cancelled as travel agent went under administration. Having internal flights and accommodation already booked and non refundable, we ended up paying triple the price for new flights to Kenya less than a month before we were meant to travel. Started a claim with Aviva along with our friends who we were traveling with and also had a policy with Aviva - to cut a long story short - they got their claim which was a higher value to ours and we’re now still fighting to get our money back in difference in flights we had to pay! EXACTLY THE SAME CLAIM, two families, they got paid by Aviva we didn’t!! Where is the justice in that??!! DO NOT GET TRAVEL INSURANCE WITH AVIVA, they will pick and choose who they will pay out!!! This has left us with a massive financial burden to not mention massive stress, after what was meant to be a holiday of a lifetime! Reviewed on: 3rd March 2023

Ridiculous and disgusting.

These people are disgusting. They put myself and my partner(who has had a stroke) through torture and painstaking questions and time, in order to discredit us and try to make us drop our legitimate claim. The tactics involved, repeated non pertinent questions, that made us feel like liars and cheats. At one point they had my partner and I sitting in a car for 75 minutes answering questions. Cannot get refund

Had to cancel my travel insurance because of my husbands was told he could not fly. Aviva refused to pay any of the policy back even though I cannot use it . Reviewed on: 10th November 2022
