Absolute Ripoff Absolute ripoff, cancelled a policy and it cost 25% of the whole years premium. Wouldn't use Brightside ever again, not even if they were the cheapest... Read more Reviewed on: 23rd June 2023

Do not trust this company they are a con

I have had problems with this company since day one, firstly the harassment over getting proof of no claims was incredible, I forwarded proof within 2 days, then they added on over £70 because there was a discrepancy in some information I provided, it was not anything that made the insurance cost more, I decided at this point as I was within the cooling off period to cancel the policy, they emailed me accepting the cancellation and are now saying they cancelled the policy not me, although I have all the proof and that they want over £50 more on top of my deposit to have insured me for 8 days!! They are now threatening to pass the debt onto a debt collection agency. I was insured for 8 days they want over £110 for that and are saying they cancelled my insurance they are a massive con, do not use them they are cheap but use a better company I have reinsurred with tesco and the service has been completely different, efficient and professional I would recommend spending the little bit extra. It avoids using close brother finance company too. I would dread to think of dealing with brightside for a claim when a simple cancellation turns into a complete nightmare! Received 3 notices to say the policy would be cancelled

I received 2 e-mails and 1 letter advising me that my policy would be cancelled because payment had not been made. However my annual premium was paid in full at the start. Although I was reassured over the phone this remains a worry. Reviewed on: 9th June 2017

I have not yet had any cause to use this car insurance, and as my knowledge of IT is practically non existence I don't usually attempt to buy products on line, however I got through the application process fairly well, and when I did meet up with a small snag this was put right by Brightside staff over the 'phone. Poor follow up and customer service

After initial quote for insurance which i was happy with surprised that a third party was involved in monthly payments and sn additional credit agreement involved. Further more asked for proof of driving licence though this is now available online and instead of using the insurance portal online to confirm no claims like the majority of companies do have put the onus on me to prove it after providing renwal letter and schedule to do so told as my current insurer not provided details as not finished cover yet and not started with i have to request them to send me an email of ncd once finished and provide brightside wih copy within 3 days. Very poor service thinking of cancelling and taking up other option. Reviewed on: 2nd June 2017
