Absolutely deplorable

Absolutely deplorable. A serious business with 15 staff and world leading experts of many decades experience. A service business with no stock, credit or other risk. No one with any financial or other blemishes. I just get daft questions and constant "application denied" messages. Seems I am far from the only one. Evidently these people don't understand business, or cannot administrate competently. No earthly reason to reject this account (as per my accountants). Are they just data gatherers with no serious intention to open accounts? SHOCKING Reviewed on: 25th November 2024

Worst bank ever

This bank has frozen my current account for almost 6 months now and have REFUSED to provide me with any legitimate reason or evidence as to why they did this! They also REFUSE to let me speak to a manager or any other department every single time I call to ask (with wait times of up to an hour). This bank is corrupt and operates fraudulently. They would sooner see you starve than admit to a mistake on their part. Reviewed on: 19th July 2021

The WORST Business Account!!

Not even an exaggeration, they've got it so wrong that it's not funny, just infuriating! I loved one of their customer service reps' response to why even wait times are ridiculous for business customers 'places like Barclays can afford more staff' well then, great sales pitch/excuse. Here's why I'm leaving. took 3 months for the account to open. Once opened, a stupid pinsentry was sent to me (I thought these went out of date in 2010? but clearly they just started stocking them. The Username and customer ID is ridiculous, esp the Customer ID, so I always need the paper to hand, its illogica & without the pinsentry of if the pin's battery goes - then so does your online access! But it's okay, you have their long waits, multiple time-wasting options lists of a call centre to get through to. But once you are logged into their website, its a diabolical mess. You need to know the exact date of the statement you want? What?? the date they sent it??? or is it just one day? Well, it's definitely not just one day, as this doesn't load. need to write stuff down by hand? then make sure you do it within 5 minutes or it'll log you out, and youll have to start all over again. Need to view transactions? they will make this far more difficult for you too, it's like a gameshow you can only lose at. I absolutely hate it. I hate their online crap, I hate their out dated system, and their long wait times. not to mention that my business partner hasn't managed to access the account once in the 5/6 months that it's been open. So we're leaving. Not just that, it's put me off so much - I'm leaving as a personal customer too. Pay a bigger bank to deal with your banking, look elsewhere.. if you value your time, are busy or have work to do.. then you don't need this hassle. Reviewed on: 26th May 2021

If you do a lot of online banking, DO NOT USE THIS BANK

Applied for a business account as a benefit of FSB membership. Began using online service this week. Possibly the least user-friendly banking experience I've had: menu is counter-intuitive, found the statement option by accident after many frustrating minutes, appear to have been charged £10 to receive a payment by CHAPS but can't find the details anywhere -- only know cuz the amount shown is £10 less than the amount verified by the client's bank -- and the fee does not equate to anything listed in the tariff booklet. After waiting an hour (not 30 min as promised) on the phone earlier in the week during normal working hours, I tried ringing after 5PM for an explanation and was told the wait time would be even longer. Will keep the account cuz it was an ordeal to set up but will continue to use my original bank. Reviewed on: 28th January 2021

It is like going back in time.whilst I was aware there is a banking app on its way .when I don’t no and nobody else seems to no.it is all very frustrating with all the user name and token machine etc.and when u get on ur account it doesn’t seem to get any better.I don’t seem to be able to get on with the way it is set out and find it easy to make a mistake and it logs u out again.then u have to go through the whole procedure again to get back on .maybe moving from a good bank with a good app and ease of use was a mistake..I can only hope the app comes soon and it makes getting on ur account easier and easier to use once u are on it or I can see another bank switch happening . This bank is a cruel joke !

I was forced to open a business account to access a bbl even though i already had a current account. After i had received the loan they issued me account details to another account to repay the loan to so i tried to close the business account which charges £10 a month service charge because i already have a business account with a modern bank. Now the co op say i cant close my account untill i have repaid the bbl back in full. To top it all I can not log in to the business account even though i use the correct login details and know how to use the antiquated token that they make you use. Absolutely WORST online Banking experience ever!

AVOID! RUBBISH RUBBISH RUBBISH!! Each and every time I try to use the monstrously BAD Co-op Business banking website I want to tear my hair out! AND this is the recently redesigned version - the old one was WAY better! Even the simplest task of getting transactions thru a specific date range is IMPOSSIBLE! It never works. The calendars say you cannot select a date BEFORE the date you've selected even tho it's actually after. Totally rubbish unintuitive interface. Stuff doesn't display properly either, boxes overlap or half hidden under others. Tried ALL browsers - still BAD! Times you out after 5 mins of no activity. Have made several complaints via Co-op feedback with no response at all. AVOID! RUBBISH RUBBISH RUBBISH!! Reviewed on: 4th December 2020

Terrible online banking

The old online banking system wasn't great, but it worked. The new system is atrocious. It is impossible to use and missing so many of the features that other banks have. I lost the will to live trying to cancel a direct debit. It was less painful having root canal work. Whoever signed off on this monstrosity should be sacked. Myself and my wife have now moved our business banking elsewhere and could not be happier. Reviewed on: 17th November 2020

Used to be a great bank for Business banking but now OMG-aweful

ive banked with co-op as a business customer for about 15 years with absolutely no complaints until they changed online banking. Jeez I'm pretty intelligent but their online banking is appalling. Every time I click on my current account it tells me my overdraft is my interest rate etc but what I want to see straight away is my transactions. It took at least three logins and about an hour before I found them and now instead of having columns of incoming and outgoing they are all in one column. NOT HELPFUL. Can I find a list of direct debits and standing orders NO Tried to ring customer services around half a dozen times and given up as on hold for at least 30mins. As a business im working trying to earn money not sitting on hold and not helpful due to short opening times too. Its all got lousy just lousy. Not good for business co-op.
