Trustworthy and on my side

I tried another lender for my own- build project but found them uncaring and they started to pile on ‘hidden’ fees. I was so relieved to find Ecology who have been dependable, straightforward and who have felt as though they are on my side throughout the project + I found them very reasonable as far as rates go. Ethical lending encouraging sustainability

Ecology provided us with a mortgage for our house in 1998. Since then we’ve remortgaged to install solar panels, a hydro scheme and extra insulation and benefited from a reduced interest rate. A force for good in the world! Reviewed on: 11th March 2021

Help full and friendly

Friendly and Professional

Restoration Life Saver and Family Spirit!

I found Ecology when searching the internet into the night for one last chance to save a father and son restoration project. From start to finish the team have been super friendly, you really feel confident and part of their way of life. I value their forward thinking, values and modern take on the world of mortgages, which can feel a bit old money. My solicitor commented many times during the process at how easy and friendly Ecology are to deal with. Everything feels right, professional, approachable and always looking forward. Self build mortgage

Ecology Building Society were one of very few building societies that would lend us a self build mortgage. They recognised we were trying to build a a sustainable barn conversion in a farm and once we provided a high SAP rating and even though on a farm with a shared driveway were willing to lend to us. The process whilst thorough was easy and they were helpful in what they could offer. We ended up with a mortgage that suits are needs and is affordable. Excellent customer service

Both pre-pandemic and during, Ecology's customer service has been excellent. They are understanding, efficient and helpful. The mortgage application was straightforward, and the fees were very competitive for a self build mortgage. Reviewed on: 9th March 2021
