Very happy and wouldn’t switch

I have a joint current account with First Direct and have been very happy with it. We initially got a switching offer to open the account but I wouldn’t want to switch away from them now, as the service is so good. The useability of the banking app is very good and it is easy to make transfers by BACs or to scan in any cheques that we receive. One function I like about the app is that you can get it to show only transactions going in or out, which makes it easier to find a specific transaction quickly. We have only had to contact First Direct about questions or issues a couple of times and on both occasions they got back to us quickly using the chat function. My only ask would be that we could earn decent interest on the balance in the account. Reviewed on: 6th December 2024

Terrible service.

Terrible service. Online bank so only telephone contact. Takes ages to get through...always very busy apparently. You are passed on to someone else...lots of waiting and ghastly music. They cannot deal with query so passed on again. Long wait..we are very busy!!.. and more ghastly music. Eventually third person cannot give direct help so answer will be sent by second class post. WE have tried 5 times to get Power of Attorney and are now on 5 the activation code to be told there has been a problem First Direct end because someone forgot to update all the details.
