Sensible approach to black box (You Drive) policy.

I had a black box (You Drive) policy. My car needed repairs which took several weeks and meant I wasn't driving it. Hastings Direct contacted me asking for information as to why I wasn't submitting any driving data. I was able to explain, forward an email from the garage, and it was fine. I thought the process could have been tricky but the customer service people were helpful and sensible about it. Reviewed on: 20th October 2024

Awful service

Spent 3 days on the phone, due to an admin error their end which was admitted by management when put through complaints system, apologies were given however I was told they could do nothing,I was left out of pocket by over £150 due to this admin error and monthly payments increased. Over all communication is poor, poor record keeping, phone calls had to listened back to find their errors, which ended up being admitted and confirmed by them, long call waiting service. A simple admin error their end, and three consistent days of calls, being passed on to people to sort insurance cover with no support. I have been with this company for four years. Will not renew next time. Unfortunately stuck with them for the next twelve months. Management clearly need to train staff to higher standard of customer service support. I've never put an online complaint on before but I found this service well beyond par, and with today's climate would not want people to loose out by going with this company. call centre is shocking and unfriendly

omg girl on call centre wasn't happy about me not renewing insurance with them was extremely rude and unhappy about i am planning to leave, insurance went up more than £300 and she was trying make me feel i am still getting best deal even if i shop around i wont find better one, after long chat she dropped phone without any good bye , made me feel so unwelcome , NEVER AGAIN getting insurance with this company Reviewed on: 24th August 2022

Horrendous

I was unfortunate to be hit by a Hastings policy holder on the 20/05/22. It's now the 24/08/22 and I'm still waiting to be paid out for my car which was declared a write off. I have a disabled son and a baby due in a few weeks. Absolutely shocking service! Reviewed on: 23rd August 2022

Very pushy with bad customer service. Didnt like the guy who I spoke with on the phone who was trying to get me to pay more than I did the year before. Def swapped insurance companies after this interaction. Reviewed on: 19th August 2022

Disaster of a company

Had an accident, all caught on video, originally gone as none claim, keep getting contacted for more copies of the same video Car was off the road for 6 months, no courtesy car during that time, I was told that they had delays at their repairer and I kept getting pushed back Car was returned with some damage not fixed, a new key [cheap replacement key that now doesn't work] (because the repairer lost the key I gave them) and a dodgy wheel alignment, they then refused to rectify any of these issues Compensation for 6 months without my car (whilst still charging me for insurance), the damage missed, the awful key they gave me, and having to get other transport until I got a courtesy car when my car was repaired 100 pounds Absolute joke of a company, I'm a young driver so I think they have tried to take advantage of that I have told everybody I can to avoid them Lost a customer for LIFE Reviewed on: 14th August 2022
