I was involved in a no fault hit and run where the other party accepted liability. They have severely under valued my vehicle at (offered £500 for a car valued at £1850). Ignored my emails and disputes, and will bully and coerce you into accepting an offer. If you call they'll put you on hold for ages in the hopes you give up. Ignore the bots on here and don't bother.     Never made a claim new premium 40% increase!!

    Having never claimed on my home insurance the premiums from Hastings have risen every year. This year I was offered a renewal with a further... Having never claimed on my home insurance the premiums from Hastings have risen every year. This year I was offered a renewal with a further 40% increase! After searching for other quotes I went back to Hastings and miraculously they reduced the premium back to the cost of the previous years. This is a clear case of price gouging its loyal customers to try their luck with hugely inflated premiums only to reduce them back if they are called out.     I strongly advise against purchasing building or contents insurance from Hastings Direct: Home Insurance. My experience with this company has been deeply disappointing and unprofessional.... I strongly advise against purchasing building or contents insurance from Hastings Direct: Home Insurance. My experience with this company has been deeply disappointing and unprofessional. While their premiums may appear competitively priced, it quickly became clear that this is a case of getting what you pay for — and in this instance, that means inadequate support and poor customer service. When my fridge freezer stopped working, I attempted to make a claim. Hastings Direct refused to log it, citing that they could not determine how the appliance had failed. They made no effort to investigate the issue themselves. Instead, I was told that it was my responsibility to find an engineer, have the problem diagnosed, and then report the findings back to them — a completely unreasonable expectation for an insurance customer. Their refusal to even initiate a proper investigation reflects a serious lack of accountability and suggests they are more interested in avoiding claims than supporting their policyholders. I would urge others to consider alternative insurers who are more transparent and responsive when their services are genuinely needed. Read more Read less

    Do not buy the insurance from them, you will flush the money down the toilet. The only thing they are able to do is finding... Do not buy the insurance from them, you will flush the money down the toilet. The only thing they are able to do is finding excuses over excuses to deny your claim. Absolutely the worse insurance company I have been with. Cancelled my insurance after 6 months. I have a external wall damaged by the storm in December. First they said it wasn't coved because wear and tear, then because the weather condition, then back to wear and tear excuse, then I wasn't covered because I already claimed for the conservatory (I don't have a conservatory and I just bought the house couple of months before) then I have to proof ownership, not of the house but of the wall. Then denied and closed my complaint without giving a toss, then I gave up regardless the ombudsman service said my claim is based on fact, but the legal procedure will be more expensive than fixing the wall on my own expenses. Save yourself and avoid this company like the plague. Read more Read less

    DO NOT USE HASTINGS PLEASE

    Terrible - my car gets stolen and they refuse the claim for a key discrepancy issue and THEN LOSE THAT key! Car has been found... Car has been found by the police and Hastings, for over a month, have refused to resolve the fact I have not been able to pick up my car, since they LOST the only key I had access to.     Accidental Damage

    Reviews should be given on the back of a good or bad service. Not if you got a cheaper quote! This company is run by... Reviews should be given on the back of a good or bad service. Not if you got a cheaper quote! This company is run by a bunch of fraudsters. My claim was refused for accidental TV damage because by removing fluff from corner of the TV I was essentially cleaning the TV! Cleaning is not covered under accidental damage. So just lie chaps at how you accidentally damaged something as these FRAUSTERS do not value honest customers. Read more Read less

    Disgraceful car insurance company

    Awful company will never go with them again. They up your insurance quote every year with a stupid reason why where I can go somewhere... Awful company will never go with them again. They up your insurance quote every year with a stupid reason why where I can go somewhere else do cheaper. After cancelling my contract I am then accused of not making a payment even tho it was through a direct debit where one month they didn’t take a payment and I was not informed why they didn’t take it even tho it should of gone out. After a year being penalised to still pay a missed payment fee on top of a whole month fee where my contract is ending. If I owe them the money that is not the issue here. My issue is the lack of communication with each other and myself on not informing me when a payment was not take. They are the most money grabbing company I have experienced and heard from other people do not bother with them. Read more Read less
