I really like Hastings home insurance as their paperwork is very clear as it has a detailed breakdown of what is included. Their customer service is excellent too.

Straightforward, honest and efficient

I ended up being a Hastings direct customer after choosing them following a competitive line up from a car insurance consumer website. The onboarding process... I ended up being a Hastings direct customer after choosing them following a competitive line up from a car insurance consumer website. The onboarding process was good and the app is basic and decent but had to drop one star as the paperwork that came with the insurance were too much jargon and made it having through look through four or 5 paperwork in the app to see what product I was enrolled into. Although customer support responded quickly after I emailed , there were no actionable steps once I took the product . For example, I hold a comprehensive breakdown cover through a major provider and the same provider also offers breakdown through the policy , so I’m in fact doubling up and they refused to detach it from the package . The only disappointment is this causing me to stop giving them an excellent score. Biggest advise to customers is to double check before they sign up because once you sign up they would never help removing a non essential part of the car insurance add ons . Read more Read less

Had my car written off by a careless driver. Major injury and all 3 emergency services. Have had to manage my own claim as Hastings... Had my car written off by a careless driver. Major injury and all 3 emergency services. Have had to manage my own claim as Hastings just read scripts from the computer most of the time. Now low balling the pay out making ridiculous requests to the car finance company who themselves (a very big car manufacturer) are incredulous and actually more supportive of me than Hastings - my insurance company. Having to spend hundreds on car hire because Hastings are refusing to pay the full amount - for what was a brand new car !
