After dealing with these via a claims process, i can now understand why which have them at the bottom of the list of insurers. We claimed for water leak/damage, their contractors not only did bad workmanship they also cut corners, omitted away from scope and left our home unhabitable with no water, heating, kitchen, electrics. This is on-going with ombudsman but they have decided to make 2 nhs key workers, 2 kids (1 with autism) homeless by cutting our accomodation. They have took no responsibility for the issues, instead of hiring independent surveys they sent their network. Claire Griffin case manager has zero customer service skills, is aggressive and has a major lack of empathy, I have no idea how they got a customer facing role. I have emailed their CEO, Local MP, Newspapers as this behavior from such a huge business is discusting. I urge everyone to stand clear of Hastings Insurance. Read more Read less

I took out car insurance on the 25th September the policy was due to start on the 23rd October. I then found out the cover was not what I expected and decided to cancel. According to the information they sent me with their confirmation it quite firmly stated that there would no (as in zero) cancellation fee if the policy hadn’t started and it was within the 14 day cooling off period. In my situation both criteria are applicable! However they have decided that I can’t cancel the policy till the 23 October, ie when it starts and that a cancellation fee of £20 would be applicable. I’ve spoken to them via text and by phone but to no avail! It’s like banging your head against a brick wall! So frustrating. Sorry for the rant but I just had to vent somewhere. Unfortunately it looks like it’s the insurance ombudsman for me! It’s not the money it’s the principle and the total injustice of this company’s actions!! Totally Despicable!! Read more Read less
