Online experience is great, but the call queue times are epic!

I really like the ease of the online service. BUT when you need to call them the call queue time can be pretty long. When chasing up the application I spent 35min on hold. Gave up in the end...frustrating! Reviewed on: 14th October 2014

Good service in Newcastle branch

I was told I needed to go into branch to get a letter required by our investors. I was met promptly and my request was dealt with within 10 min. Knocked off a star, as would have been easier for them to email or mail me this letter! Reviewed on: 28th September 2016

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING THEIVS

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, CHARGING FOR ACCOUNT, THEN ADD ON EXTRA CHARGES AS AND WHEN THEY SEE FIT, WAIT FOR A LONG TIME FOR CALL TO BE ANSWERED, THEN THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHATS GOING ON WITH MY ACCOUNT, CHEQUES NOT BEING GRACED WHEN THERE IS MORE THAN ENOUGH MONEY IN ACCOUNT, BILLS NOT BEING PAID WHEN SUFFICIENT FUNDS, THEN AGAIN FEES ARE ADDED! As useful as a chocolate fire guard

This bank can't even give you a letter which confirms they have approved you. That took a month and lots of calls. Customer service is unacceptable. Use at your peril! Reviewed on: 19th August 2016

Awful service noone answering phone. been on hold for over an hour.

Waited an hour to talk to someone to authorise an payment ,hour later still on hold .Absolutely disgusting service. live chat is even worse, the agents do not know what they are doing. customer: need to make payment over phone for insurance. agent, why don't you pay online to friends and family. explained 15 times then give up. time to change bank. Greedy.

These are the greediest bank I have ever dealt with they changed the detail of my account though I did not want it and now I pay them to put my money in there. I have to have a business account for the tax man and I cannot leave as I have an overdraft. Greedy pigs. Reviewed on: 30th June 2016

Extremely long telephone wait times

Online Banking - Needs Improvement

I have had a business account with HSBC for a few years and also have bank accounts with two other banks. I use online banking at all three banks and find that HSBC online banking is nowhere near as user friendly as the others. The log in process is fiddly and inconvenient. Trying to find transactions that have been processed for a specific period is not easy and I am speaking as someone who has worked in the finance industry for many years. Come on HSBC look at making improvements to make it more user friendly. Reviewed on: 28th March 2016

These people are very greedy.

I have been banking with HSBC since the 80's all of a sudden I have to pay them to deposit money into my business account. I would leave but cannot as I owe them money. They are the greediest and, I read, corrupt bank and I wish I could leave them forever. I don't know whether there is a less corrupt bank out there but I doubt if they can be worse than these charlatans. Reviewed on: 18th February 2016

Efficient service and friendly staff

Always helpful team wether over the phone or in branch. Only gripe is sometimes additional monthly costs are not advertised for e.g. text messaage alerts at £2.50 per month. Reviewed on: 15th February 2016
