Attended to only when a new business banker took over the account

Its just a frustration that the only time we ever heard from our business banker was when they phoned to introduce themselves. Would happen regularly every 18 months/2 years - taken over the account, love to get to know the business etc etc but after the initial burst of enthusiasm they were never heard of again! Terrible international banking capabilities and short sighted business support staff

We have been with HSBC for 4 years, and despite the easy application process, the service is pretty terrible. This was further recognsied once we started trading internationally . We are charged on international payments which go in and out of our account, and their currency account is merely a savings account. We approached HSBC for a business mortgage, as as there were risks associated to the building project, HSBC would not even consider us for an application. Reviewed on: 13th January 2016

Basic but sufficient for our needs

As we were keen to get the business started, we needed a business bank account quite quickly, and our chosen bank wasn't able to open an account quickly enough, so we decided to go with another bank. Our needs are fairly basic and it's fully managed online which works ok. Sometimes get an error message when trying to download statements but works itself out ok most times! Call picking-up could be improved though. Reviewed on: 12th January 2016

Good fraud detection call

When trying to make a purchase our card was declined as a fraud flag was triggered. I quickly received a call from HSBC who were helpful in explaining that performing a string of transactions from non-UK sites sometimes triggered a fraud alert on business accounts. Great starter account

Great account when first starting out, you don't pay for anything. But after a few years of growing you'll notice the high international charges at a lot. We've had over £400 fee on one payment. Reviewed on: 17th November 2015

Very unhappy

Last Friday proved impossible. I couldn't transact my payments online so went into branch. Payments not made then either...website magically back up the next day...not as reliable as it should be. Reviewed on: 7th September 2015

Friendly agent BUT £9 charge

I had to make an invoice payment in US dollars. I couldn't do this online, so had to call HSBC. The agent that took my calls was very friendly, and there was no call wait (it was 9pm on a Sunday)...but I am a little annoyed that they charged me for the ability to make a payment. Easy self service

My review is mainly about my online banking as that is how I tend to access my account. ITs fairly effortless...one bug is that I'm always prompted to download something for security reasons which I always click away. Reviewed on: 7th May 2015
