HSBC Regular Saver

My experience with HSBC’s Regular Saver has been positive overall. It’s easy to set up and helps me save consistently each month by setting a fixed amount to be transferred automatically. I like that it encourages disciplined saving and the interest rate is better than a standard savings account, which is a good incentive. The main limitation is that you can only deposit up to a certain amount each month, and you don’t have full flexibility to withdraw whenever you want without affecting the account. However, I understand that’s part of how it encourages saving. Overall, it’s a simple and effective way to build savings gradually with minimal effort. Reviewed on: 25th April 2026

Their system won't allow a new regular saver account

after my original regular saver matured, tried to open a new one but their system won't let me, neither using PC or app worked. complained, they still could not sort it out after months. I have to conclude that they don't want my custom. Reviewed on: 16th April 2026

Great for building savings without temptation!

I’ve been using the HSBC Online Bonus Saver for a few months now and I’m really impressed. It’s perfect for someone like me who wants to grow their savings without constantly dipping into the account. The 4% interest (as long as you don’t withdraw) is one of the best rates I’ve seen for an easy-access account, and it’s really encouraged me to leave my money untouched each month. The setup was quick and easy through the app, and I can check in on my balance any time without fuss. I also like that you only need £1 to open it, so you can start small if you want to. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to build a savings habit. Just be aware that if you take money out, you don’t get the bonus interest that month—but honestly, that’s been a good motivator for me to keep saving consistently. Overall, really happy with it! A smart little account that rewards patience. Reviewed on: 22nd April 2025

Encourages saving - high interest

The account genuinely encourages saving, and gives a relatively high interest rate on a monthly basis. I have no real criticisms to give the account, aside from some minor customer service troubles - but they can be overcome. Reviewed on: 19th March 2025

Competitive rate

I opened a Regular Saver 7 months ago as the rate was very competitive and I already had a current account with HSBC. Nowadays some accounts pay more than 5% but I think it's still a good rate. Reviewed on: 30th July 2023

Good rate on regular saver

Alongside your current account you have a regular saver at 5% where you can save £250 per month. This is a good benefit and encourages saving. I like that there is no access to it for 1 year without losing your interest rate as this discourages raiding the savings. Reviewed on: 31st May 2023

Hard work

Monthly saver is easy to set up & check through the year, however problems arise at maturity. Your account becomes hidden and the money unavailable to you for up to 5 days which is not right. They have no right doing this Reviewed on: 12th January 2022

High Savings

I love this bank as I put in money every month and earn a very good amount of interest. Reviewed on: 8th April 2021
