Been with the Building society for over 60 years.

Been with the Building society since it was Leeds and Holbeck and I was a very young child (over 60 years). Always found them very professional and personable. FEELING REALLY BULLIED BY LEEDS BS

After a review on Trustpilot revealing Leeds BS instant access savings rate was 1.9% and between 2 and 3 times that available elsewhere; Also that Martin Lewis stated if getting less than 4% "ditch and switch", Leeds have demanded review be taken down! Clearly bothered at people being given this information! I've been with Leeds BS for nearly 30 years and feel that, rather than being treated as a loyal customer, I've lost out substantially on interest and now feel they are trying strong arm tactics versus an OAP to hide their awful approach to loyal customers/long term members. LEEDS BS LOYALTY PENALTY

It must be c.30 years since I started saving with the then Leeds and Holbeck Building Society and I could rely on them to treat me fairly on interest. THEN, after a period caring 24/7 for a relative, with little time to check interest rates, I discovered they had side lined my account and I had missed about £3000 in interest. I shrugged my shoulders and moved to a headline rate account and, after a couple of years I find they have AGAIN side lined my account, paying an extremely uncompetitive rate of interest. So, I've mainly transferred my savings to another building society which not only pays almost 2.5 times as much interest,but guarantees the interest rate for the future. SO IF YOUVE BEEN WITH LEEDS BS FOR A WHILE, CHECK YOUR SAVINGS RATE, AND MOVE TO A SOCIETY THAT TREATS YOU FAIRLY! Reviewed on: 2nd June 2023

Brilliant service & unexpected gift

I opened a children's saving account for my daughter and despite not being advertised they sent a email a few days later to say that they had planted a tree in my little girl's name. I thought this was a lovely touch and good CSR from Leeds Building society Reviewed on: 31st May 2023

Good luck with the call back!

Tried calling Hull branch for a week to simply ask a question re: appointment. No answer. So I rang hub office who said i would get a call back within 2 hours, didn't call back all week dispite me trying Hull office all week, no response. So I opened my ISA at a rival building society. Good customer service by phone

I generally check my ISA online but have recently made two phone calls to customer services and was pleasantly surprised to be answered quickly, have my issues dealt with promptly, with everything explained to my satisfaction by someone who didn't just read the script. Much better than average UK customer service these days! Reviewed on: 5th April 2023
