Fantastic & repuatable brand with lots more under the bonnet

I joined Metro Bank for my business because it offers free banking if in credit > £5000 but having got more into finding products that meet my needs im bowled over by the amount of help Metro Bank offer their business customers. I now have a UK leading digital debit card account from VivaPay that i can use for eCommerce safely separate from my Metro Bank one but linked and what's more i get cash back from business purchases that could knock down the already low 'business leading' card transaction charge rates to nearly zero if i use it well. I feel as a business customer that im no longer at the bottom of the pile like i do with the more established Banks. Thank you Metro Bank - keep up the good work. Reviewed on: 17th February 2021

I have been a customer of this bank since it opened and a advocate of it advising many people to join at as I work as a student advisor in Cambridge. It is unbelievable how far down hill it has become and now at the bottom of the barrel. Not following up important requests and not responding to complaints. Even the Bank in Cambridge not following up complaints when you take time off work to physically go in to find out what is happening. Customer service abominable and fraud department a law unto themselves - they lie and even though calls are recorded - no-one is bothered to look or listen to listen to resolve any issues. Please think carefully before banking here. It all seems good until you have an issue. Not so much the revolution bank - now the reversal bank of all promises to customers. Can’t wait until my finances mature so I can close down my last account - they just don't care anymore. Good ridden to bad rubbish Reviewed on: 1st December 2020

I recently opened up a bank account with the Reading team. I am extremely happy with Oli's, Luke's and Sukh's customer service. Especially during this pandemic, they went out of their way to keep me informed every step and were courteous, helpful and efficient. I have opened up bank accounts with other banks before and I have never received the level of excellent customer service that I had received from Oli, Luke and Sukh. The Reading Metrobank branch have some of the most incredible people working there. They are excellent and I can not thank them enough. Metrobank is by far the best bank I have worked with and that is down to these three gentleman! 10/10 stars Reviewed on: 23rd November 2020

Waste of time metro bank

Opened my business account on the first day after that I put a application for BBLS they wasted 5 weeks of mine kept asking for same paperwork which were sent few times. I was told lies from there telephone management, after 5 weeks the loan got declined now there is no one who is given loan to new customers. I did contact CEO MR DANIEL Furmarkin, he was a waste of time also my advise is don't go with this bank there Customer service is so bad it takes over 45min to 1 hour to talk about any issues, Now I am taking this case to FCO Please don't waste your time with metro Reviewed on: 4th November 2020

AWFUL BANK

They simply have no customer service and from my own expereince they do not do business banking. I genuinely can't understand how they get these 5 star reviews, I can only think it's from lucky people (and ONLY personal accounts) who never need to bank to sort anything out. Tried opening a business account to switch to them for my company that have been in business for 30 years, 3 months later still not open. No idea what's going on, can't get ANY sensible replies from Metrobank, can't speak to anyone about it etc etc... constantly told I will be called back, it never happens. So now I have given up and staying where we are. They are impossible to deal with, staff are very friendly but utterly useless and unhelpful. Opening a business account with them seems impossible, they also seem not to want to take international payments which is difficult if you expect to sell anything outside the UK (they claim they do but in reality don't want to, so make it difficult to open an account to recieve payments from abroad). Very strange attitude to business and complete lack of understanding of how any business would operate. Avoid them at all costs and go with a proper bank, it'll save you lots and lots and lots of trouble in the long run. I think we had a lucky escape by NOT switching to them. Dreadful bank. Not a good bank.

Not a very nice bank. They like to charge you for doing nothing. Closed that account after paying of any charges to be charged to do that!! Please do not use this bank, they will only look after themselves. No help for customers in a time when I am earning ZERO due to the pandemic!!! Now we own them more money and they have closed any complaint when we told them not to! Reviewed on: 17th May 2020

The service to small businesses is a disaster.

Issues raised, are ignored, your business account manager/s never calls back and talking to them is waste of time, although very polite, they do nothing for you. In the current situation, I asked for a reasonable small loan to prevent losing the business. They "kindly" offered me a loan, charging 10% interest (the Bank of England interest is about 0.1%), I am disgusted! Reviewed on: 25th April 2020

Very bad experience from an unethical bank

Unfortunately I had the most painful experience with this bank. On July 2019 my business account was frozen without any prior notification. I called them to find out what the reason was and they just confirmed the restriction without giving any reason. This is while several direct debits, card transactions, customer payments they all went on hold and my business suffered financial losses. A few days later I noticed that my personal account with my life savings inside it also got restricted. No reason, no clarification, no updates! Exact same thing happened to several other people who happened to be Iranian nationals. Having consulted with experienced solicitors, I have strong grounds to believe this was done based on a discriminatory measure to racially profile citizens and dual nationals of a certain country i.e. Iran. For more than 6 months my life savings were stuck in this bank without giving me any reason or a time frame within which they aim to complete their so called review. It was yesterday that I received a letter giving me a 60 day notice for closing my account after 6 months of so called "review". I went through the most stressful days of my life throughout this period and had to cancel my holiday as I was left penniless. I borrowed money from family and friends to afford my life. Lack of decency, professionalism and ethics in this bank is beyond comprehension. Not recommended at all, stay away! Reviewed on: 6th February 2020
