You get what you pay for!

Left for almost 7 hours at a service station in France, had to wait up to 30 mins each time to speak to a representative, and a different person each time. I was not told where the bike was being taken and received no further correspondence from them until I got back to UK. I have to say I definitely would not recommend.! Reviewed on: 9th July 2022

Packaged account

Had to recently claim my travel insurance as my son broke his ankle days before we went to florida. The whole process was easy and the girl I spoke to on the phone (jade) was super friendly and talked me through the whole process. Had my money back within 10 days. A shameless and repulsive company, avoid at all costs

The only consistent thing about Nationwide is their horrendous web of lies, the company is rotten to the core. This time around they disabled my card while I was in Ho Chi Minh city, leaving me with no money, half a world away. Despite having a note on my account saying that I travel extensively. The explanation they gave was "the chip has become broken, but its on the inside, so it looks fine from the outside". Then refused to elaborate when I probed further. Furthermore, they then offered no assistance and left me to fend for myself. Reviewed on: 21st June 2022

Evil staff and liars

I nearly had a heart attack and been unable to sleep and eat . They closed the account without any warning knowing I had direct debts on and sent all the money through the Post . No a phone call or email . I had made several complaints but none of them never got dealt with Very Nasty !! Reviewed on: 20th June 2022

Appalling service

Have been a customer for over 30 years but their terrible service today was completely unacceptable. I attempted to make a transfer online to my 'linked' bank account only to find they have removed my linked account without advising me as i had not used the account for a few months. I asked them to reinstate my linked account so i could make my transfer and they refused telling me to go to a branch which would be a 2 hour round trip for me as i did not have a card reader. Card Readers were discontinued by other major banks years ago ! I was utterly astonished that they simply refused saying they would not and could not make the transfer for me of reinstate my linked account that THEY HAD REMOVED WITHOUT ADVISING ME !! I do not recommend this backward organisation who do not want to assist their customers Reviewed on: 17th June 2022

Brilliant!!

I have used my flex plus insurance twice for breakdowns and once for a holiday insurance claim for my partner. Smooth process every time, couldn’t be happier with this the service/customer care. Thanks nationwide! :) Reviewed on: 7th June 2022

Outstanding breakdown cover

I used Nationwide's breakdown service today. The advisor on the phone picked up within a few minutes. He was helpful and explained the whole process. Within 15 mins AA arrived. He was so friendly, so polite and knowledgeable. I cannot recommend the service enough. He sorted out my car and I was on the road within half an hour. He explained what he was doing and talked me through the whole repair process. Exceptional customer service and care. Highly recommend the Nationwide breakdown cover. Reviewed on: 3rd June 2022

Breakdown recovery

Broke down at 20.40 in urban area but not close to any facilities. Edgertons Breakdown arrived at 23.00. On arrival man arrived and said "oh I know what's wrong with this, it's the battery" which he thought was in the boot, but it wasn't, it's under the bonnet. Then he said it was the alternator, then he changed his mind, it was the DPF and said "it's ridiculous " 'I can't fix this, will call you a recovery" However, he DIDN'T call a recovery vehicle but registered the job as completed and left us at 23.45 waiting. Phoned helpline again, operative told us he had signed the job off as completed. She called emergency truck and we got home at 02.15 (basically waited six hours to get home, ten miles away).I do wonder if this company get paid more for arriving after 2300 hours and a bonus for saying they have fixed the problem!!! My Mum has the same cover, she is 78 years old, I dread to think of her being subjected to this (lack of) service!!!!!! Reviewed on: 25th May 2022

Rubbish travel insurance

Have been flex plus customers for many many years. Twice have tried to claim on travel insurance and both times have been rejected, even after being told initially that we would be covered. We will now close our account, waste of £13 per month. Reviewed on: 28th April 2022
