You'd get more use out of a chocolate teapot!! Card was blocked and then I got charged an Annual Fee and a Withdrawal Fee. Overseas Call Centre were totally useless and I phoned them 5-6 times. My daughter needed the card for a trip to Japan and I thought it was okay for her to use it. Problem started when she tried to book a Train Ticket on Klook and she couldn't receive an SMS message with an OTP Code (she only had Data Sim). So we switched the Mobile No to mine and I sent her the Code. Then Mastercard decided to block the card, due to her using it. It's not like it was Mastercard's "borrowed" money - it was a pre-loaded card, that they were making a profit on the money. I'm a 35 year customer of Sainsburys and very disappointed. Rude and Unprofessional

Just picked up some travel money from Mandy at their Ripley Bureau. She was most unpleasant and unprofessional. Not once did she engage, smile or be friendly. Of the 3 that work at this Bureau, only 1 could be considered even remotely engaging. I will use another bank in the future. Reviewed on: 22nd August 2023

Refused to take back unspent note

We purchased Dominican Pesos before our holiday , when we returned there were some larger notes that were unspent One of these notes had a slight imperfection of the foil strip and they point blank refused to buy back that note 500 peso note Disgusting service and rude staff Reviewed on: 15th April 2023

Keeps logging out

I’ve cut my card up. I’m using the latest software. It quiet often does not recongnise my email address, but it sends emails to me. !?! I’ve withdrawn my travel savings as it’s the worst Card company I’ve used. Now with Revolut and Caxton, a million times better. Sainsbury’s customer service (via India) is a nightmare. 100 euro notes

Received my money and I have several 100 euro notes and 5O euro notes. When I buy one coffee the cafe are going to be well pleased when I offer these. What is the point Sainsbury’s? Why not have a section asking what value notes you want. No I won’t use again. Reviewed on: 21st January 2023

Absolutely dreadful

We ordered the pre paid travel card. Picked it up. Only to get abroad and it not work. Turns out it hadn’t been activated properly by sainsburys and we were unable to access our account and the card. Sainsburys shifted us to Mastercard and they were just as keen to put off our calls. Hung up on us three times before actually getting through to them. Spent the first 4 days of our holiday with no money and unable to do anything. Absolutely appalled by both companies and it’s now cost us more to use other cards. And still waiting for a refund. Will not be recommending sainsburys to anyone. Awful customer service, not friendly or helpful at all. Thanks sainsburys for making our holiday far more stressful than it should have been. Worked perfect for us

Me and my boyfreind used one of these to go to majorca as I am paranoid about carrying around lots of money, worked perfect , only had to put the pin in when we reached a daily spending limit, was very useful as the bus didn't want cash, had to top up a few times wich worked instantly and we where able to put our account balance to 0 when we got back, would recommend Reviewed on: 12th July 2022

Friendly and Knowledgeable

We went into Market Harborough Sainsburys to purchase Euros. Lisa was friendly, extremely knowledgeable about the currency and also interested in our holiday. It was lovely to deal with someone who seemed happy to be there but also very professional. We will definitely be using again. Reviewed on: 9th July 2022

No currency

Ordered some Kenyan Shillings a week in advance and was due to collect them next day. Then received phone call from Travelex telling me didn’t have in stock and that there was a shortage. Went onto another companies website, called them about availability and was told all ok and plenty of stock! Will not be using sainsburys again Reviewed on: 15th June 2022

Awful experience

Had to order for home delivery as store collection was in 8 days time- ordered , paid and then said order declined as I had not met there security checks!!! WTF - you only asked for my name , address and payment? Will take my custom and money else where!!! Customer and family lost to you now- awful Reviewed on: 13th June 2022

Pre-ordered

I pre-ordered my foreign currency only to wait as long as if I had just gone in and got some money. So there was no point re-ordering I thought the money would all be ready and waiting but no. By the time the transaction was sorted out there was a long queue of people waiting. Won;t be doing this again Reviewed on: 21st April 2022
