Santander Isa - average interest rate

2
Ive been a customer of Santander for many years. They are an all round average bank, especially when it comes to online banking and customer service. The interest on this ISA is poor to say the least compared to similar products offered by banks. Reviewed on: 8th September 2016

Easy peasy

Family friendly flexible approach but could be smarter

5
I absolutely love Santander and have a number of different product with them but the account I use the most is the current 123 account. However access to it via the app it easy but could be a lot smarter. For instance, there isn't a running total for the account on the app so it's impossible to see what impact a withdrawal has had on your overall sum. This is frustrating as I've not had this issue with my Halifax app or the Natwest one. I'm sure it would be a simple fix to do for the app just to make it a bit more fit for purpose. Banking made simple

I was in need of two savings accounts for my children but needed to retain access. The staff in my local branch were able to help me despite not having an appointment. I now have all accounts linked via online banking and it's easy to manage and transfer funds. Reviewed on: 7th September 2016

Good customer service

I have been banking with Santander for a few years now and have had a good experience in terms of customer service whenever I have any queries or need to make changes to my accounts. It is easy to get in touch in the branch or though the phone. The 123 Current Account has provided a market leading interest rate - it's a shame that they will no longer be giving 3%. It was helpful to be notified in advance to consider the options available. Reviewed on: 6th September 2016

Regular saver

4
Santander offer a fairly high interest rate on their regular saver of 5%, however you can only pay in a maximum of £200 per month, which is one of the lower payment amounts for a regular saver. So the rates are good, but the opening process was painful... rather than allowing customers to open an account online, I had the option of a telephone appointment or to go into my local branch - I chose the branch option. It took half an hour, during which the poor member of staff had to read me several pages of terms and conditions, and I left with a whole ream of paperwork to read... definitely the most laborious process for opening a savings account that I've ever gone through! Reviewed on: 5th September 2016

Good, effective and polite customer service

Whenever I have an issue with anything to do with my bank account, or need any advice, the customer service in my local branch has always been polite, friendly and they have fixed any issues quickly and effectively. Reviewed on: 5th September 2016
