JUST JOINED & NERVOUS HAVING NOW READ EXTENSIVE REVIEWS OVER THE WEEKEND

It is a little premature to write an extensive review of Tesco Car Insurance because I have just joined up and am awaiting the documentation to arrive via the post. I am a little concerned though - having now had a chance to read all the reviews on-line. It is not adding to my confidence that the email that they have sent to me confirming my insurance is a 'donotreply' one and there is no alternative email offered in order to reach them. I am especially concerned about the fact that customers say that once there is an issue ie once one has to claim - there are gargantuan issues. The fact that automatic renewal without customer approval happens - also the red alert for a dodgy company. The fact that several people have had their policies CANCELLED AND WITHOUT NOTIFICATION - and find out when the police stop them - is even more dystopian and dysfunctional. I sincerely hope that I will be proved to be worrying needlessly and that I am proved 100 % wrong in my anxieties here - and that I can re -visit this review and update it with a positive tale. The other issue that is universal and that I have umbrage with is that there is no "other information" box when one purchases policies on-line. I have had a NON FAULT NON ACCIDENT NON ANYTHING something added against my name from a few years ago, I HAVE NO PROOF OF IT I HAVE NO RECALL OF IT THERE IS NOTHING WHATSOEVER SHOWN TO ME TO CORROBORATE THIS THE CENTRAL DATABASE IGNORE EMAILS AND THERE IS NO MEANS OF CONTACTING THEM OTHERWISE. IE There is some spurious - to all intents and purposes - made up nothing against my name that I can not detail when applying for a policy on-line - and there is no means of this being flagged up when I apply on-line. Absolute disgrace.

Absolute disgrace. Refuses to accept no claims proof and gave us a week to get it. Emailed us once and they then cancelled. Forst we knew about cancellation was a text message when they said it was cancelled. Refused to reinstate Reviewed on: 4th September 2024

Tesco Bank car insurance was so easy to arrange and the customer agent was really helpful in setting my insurance up,also Tesco Bank was the most competitive price,whereas other companies prices had sky rocketed my Tesco policy had risen by by a mere £5 from previous year,so I am one happy policy holder Reviewed on: 4th September 2024

Avoid this company .

Joined tesco bank box 6 months ago now. Been very unhappy ever since. The customer service is shocking! The firstly called me numerous of times regarding my car being kept at a different address the whole month which is wasn’t. Then got more calls regarding miles. they charge an extortionate amount of money to add on more miles to the policy. each time i have called them i have never found them helpful. i wanted to raise a complaint to the complaint team and its took them 2 months to get back to me, also not answering anything i have been concerned with. also have tried to call them numerous of times asking to speak to someone regarding my policy and they have said someone will call me back and never have. For a first time young driver i would avoid at all costs. They sell you the dream insurance when taking one out with them. They also didn’t offer to let me pay monthly so wanted the money upfront. Attempt to tow away my car., why was I at fault.

There was an unsuccessful attempt to tow away my car which resulted in damage to the front end. I believe the keys were cloned and the alarms turned off. I paid an excess of £1,000 to a total garage bill of under £3,000. The car Audi S8 V10 had a £2K service and then 2 months later I traded it in for an Audi S8 D4. insurance was due on the D4 based non claims bonus based on 50 years no claims was reduced because I was "At Fault" for the attempted theft. HOW? This is just unfair, inequitable. I have pulled our house insurance and today Aug 27th 2024 my wife's car insurance. It was on repeat renewal and Tesco had not advised me this was due except to say the could not take the money. HSBC had sent me a new card. When I asked to cancel the insurance which had expired 3 days before Tesco said "We hope you are aware that it is illegal to drive a car without insurance". I told them, the truth, that I had parked the car on our land (so off-road) and SORNED it before the insurance expired. They charged me £4.10 to cancel the policy in the cooling off period. You can tell I have not cooled off yet. This is not Tesco people this is Tesco Policy from accountants; don't support them. Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Well managed and competitive.

Tesco Boxins insurance is a really well managed and competitive product that has not let me down. Their black box is not intrusive or annoying and I can actually see the reduction in my quote. They remain unbeaten on price for me and I look forward to continuing with them. Reviewed on: 25th August 2024
