The worse bank ever

This is the worse bank like ever the app is always down and never works which mqkes it pretty damn useless then to report a fraudulent claim you have to go through this system of going on line trying to understand which part you need to do then it wipes it off so you start again probably so you will forget the problem like i would recommend tsb not good at all . Institutions require excessive account details.

This experience relates to many other institutions and their credit/bank cards. I was unclear why I couldn't log on to my account on a PC. I called to find out why and had to give far too many details, even including the csv code from the card. Only then did I get an automated response saying the offices were closed. This should have been an automated reply at he start to avoid wasting my time. However, the greater issue is that many ask for similar information before they will communicate with customers. The danger is that if this was given over a compromised line, a fraudulent individual would have all they need to then go on and make purchases. Fundamentally, I strongly believe the financial sector should stop asking for so much detail and instead should ask for at least one less detail. By all means ask for something different but unique. Good for small interest free overdraft.

Good app features

The app is very good compared to competitors like nationwide. Never have to use a card reader & can upload documents like change of address & marriage certificates without having to go into branch. Would be good if they also sent notifications for when money leaves/enters your account too. Reviewed on: 24th August 2023

Reduced service

I have been with TSB for many, many years and while I get on well with the app and find their Internet banking quite intuitive there are several reasons why I have started to look into competitors. The closure of branches including city center ones have left me with a 50-60 mile round trip if I need in branch support. Frequent international travel has cost me dearly with charges for overseas transactions (I've moved to Starling for this reason) And finally, appalling ISA rates means I've removed around 30k from my savings with TSB and opted for premium bonds instead!
