They don't pay there engineers, and don't return things they promised to return the contract is useless, they want to sell you a new rubbish ideal and make you pay for it over 10 years. Avoid like the plague. Reviewed on: 13th January 2024

24/7 an absolute rip off.

24/7 an absolute rip off. I kept paying monthly direct debit and paid excess fee £95 twice for one event when I had a drainage blocked last month. They send out engineers(cowboys) whom more likely to view and write reports only rather than to complete the task and finally I was told those blocks are not included in the policy, same as other reviewers in this page. I had to call out plumbers from Checkatrade and job is completed within 3 hours. 24/7 is infamously known to the people in this trade, I found lot of other victims like me when I have searched online. This simple job they couldn't complete even though £190 excess fee paid and paying monthly DD for last 10 months, you don't expect to call someone from Checkatrade who completes the jobs so easily. 24/7, nothing but a SCAM !!!!!!! Will do anything to sell a boiler, including lie to you

Sales person wasn't transparent about call-out fees when I was sold a boiler and how that impacts my current policy. 247 Staywarm, who are a sister company of 247 Home Rescue, have told me that I don't need to pay for call-out charges, but this is not true! He wasn't clear about the difference between the warranty and the plan I'm paying for. I can't escalate to the Financial ombudsman service since 247 Staywarm who sold me the boiler isn't regulated by them. Reviewed on: 30th November 2024

This company is a complete rip off!

This company is a complete rip off! I took out boiler insurance with them and during my annual boiler service they told me if my boiler broke down they would not be able to get parts for it so I should buy a new boiler. They scaremonger you into believing your boiler will break down during winter and they won't be able to fix it. I started the process of getting a new boiler and paid them a deposit. I then did some research and realised they were charging a lot more than other company's for a new boiler and the new boiler insurance was a 10 year direct debit which they did not tell me about. They also did not tell me that I was entitled to a £250 discount as I had a policy with them. I cancelled the new boiler but the company did not give me back my £700 deposit. I phoned them several times and they said the refund had been processed and it was my bank that was keeping the funds from me. It was all lies, no refund was processed so I opened a dispute with my bank and got my money back. All the people that work for this company are in on the scam and are just trying to sell products. QUACK ENGINEERS AND ROGUE TRADER

I had a one-year cover policy with 247 Home Rescue, that covered nothing. They were only interested in collecting monthly direct debits. 1st call out for a shower tap problem was declined. 2nd call out for kitchen drain blockage could not be fixed by an unskilled cowboy sent. I have to do this privately with a handyman. The annual boiler service request took the person sent three minutes only to dust the boiler with a brush. Thirdly, the call out for no hot water and heating again was misdiagnosed as a broken pump, so boiler replacement was recommended by another unskilled person sent by 247. I had to cancel my policy and called out the W/Bose engineer privately. The boiler was diagnosed as low pressure due to leakage hence no hot water and heating. The leaking spot was tightened and the boiler was repressurised. Heating and hot water are now restored. The engineer said nothing was wrong with the boiler. Receptionist is a boiler engineer now

Engineer advised water pump would need replacing and if we hear nothing in a few days then ring 24/7 back. we did this and the receptionist said boiler is fine and we don't need any repair doing??, How would she come to this conclusion? i asked can she contact the engineer who came out to re confirm. she said no. We cancelled our monthly subscription with them but still had to pay 80pds cancellation fee. company is a joke Reviewed on: 16th September 2024

They provide pest control as part of the package. Called as I discovered mouse droppings in my property. Was advised that I need to visually see three or more mice before they’d consider coming out. Reviewed on: 14th June 2024

Utterly appalling - Scammers!

Utterly appalling - Scammers! Utterly appalling - avoid at all costs! CO2 alarm went off so we called our local Gas Network. Engineer shut off gas and advised we get a boiler check done. Called at 3pm and was told to expect a call back 'very soon'. Called again just after 4pm and was asked to send engineers report and that, once received, soemone would call back 'almost immediately'. Called again around 6pm to be told the report was being reviewed but an engineer would 'certainly be with us that evening' We then endured an awful and cold Scottish night with young children. i called on the way to work around 6am to be fobbed off with the same excuses. I was then told as it was 'an overseas call centre' they had no authority to do anything. This operative couldnt tell me the out of hours hours but advised that my query the day before came 'out of hours'......remember I called at 3pm, 4pm and 6pm? I was 'promised' a call back at 9am. I received a call (again on a very bad line from overseas) after 9am to be advised that it was not covered by my policy and it would be £95 plus labour! I have read the T&CS and it clearly states 'Boiler Emergency'. The SGN engingeer has advised we get the boiler checked in case it has a fault but a boiler policy doesn't cover that? They said its a 'risk' but if I pay almost £100 plus a few hundred labour that risk apparently doesn't apply? I asked a more senior person to call me back and never got a response. I shall be contacting the Obudsman and urge you to PLEASE avoid this outfit if you have any sense! *They have since contacted me to discuss the situation and it';s went from bad to worse - standard 'copy and paste' emails as responses. DO NOT SIGN UP TO THIS COMPANY. It's a shame to put a negative comment as the sign-up process was simple and an appointment was arranged quickly for my boiler to be serviced. BUT... The engineer carried out the service on the boiler although when he left, I noticed the boilers pressure was above 4 bar. Naturally I panicked and called the engineer who advised me to check if water was being supressed out of the pressure release pipe, which it was and was then advised to keep an eye on this over time and the pressure should start to drop. I checked a while later and the pressure was still at 3 bar but still dangerously high in my opinion. I opened a new claim with 24/7 and made them aware of this issue but they would not send an engineer out until I paid the access of £75 being my boiler was 11 years and older (I was not aware of this at the time I signed up and like always this was hidden away and not clearly stated like other companies do) I was advised that if the engineer were at fault I would get the £75 refunded. A different engineer turned up the next day, who I might add was very good and fixed the issue by increasing air to the expansion tank. The call centre agent called me, which was also followed up by a manager, to advised they would not refund my £75 being it’s not the engineer at fault and this is not a part of the service! For the past 10 years the expansion tank has always been topped up (where applicable) under the many services carried out by well-known company. (who I will be moving back to) I SHOULD NOT BE PENALISED FOR AN ENGINEER LEAVING MY BOILER UNSAFE !! STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!! Reviewed on: 12th March 2024

Proceed with caution

I don't normally leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my recent appalling experience with 24/7 home rescue. After a routine boiler service, they flagged my boiler as "at risk," insisting that I needed an immediate replacement of the heat exchanger due to a broken part. This claim was particularly suspicious, considering they had been servicing my boiler for the past three years without any prior issues. They quoted a staggering £900 for the replacement, despite admitting that the fault would have occurred during their own service. Outraged, I contested their assessment, demanding further investigation. Eventually, after many telephone calls, they begrudgingly sent out the boiler manufacturer for a second opinion, only to discover that the supposedly defective part was perfectly fine. This ordeal exposed not only their incompetence but also their blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. I shudder to think about the vulnerable individuals, like the elderly or those unable to advocate for themselves. They would have needlessly forked out a substantial sum for a repair that wasn't even necessary. The lack of accountability and empathy exhibited by 24/7 boiler service is utterly unacceptable. I implore anyone considering their services to proceed with extreme caution. Trusting them with your boiler maintenance could lead to unnecessary expenses and undue stress. AVOID THIS COMPANY!

AVOID THIS COMPANY!! Had the boiler cover with my24/7 for 4 years and always booked the annual service which always amazed me that they could fully service in the time they was here! Booked for this year's service and engineer arrived not having a clue how to use the tado system which is one of the popular WiFi heating controllers so didn't have much confidence right from the off. Within 5 minutes of him there the boiler had mysteriously packed up and wasn't working at all. Even tho the boiler had been working perfectly fine all year and was working as he managed to get a emissions reading from it. He then said he couldn't do no more and left! Leaving me with no heating with a family with children isn't very good at all. Couple of days after I get a call saying that they will send out a service engineer only after I've paid £75! I begrudgingly paid up and waited a day for him to turn up. He turned up not happy that he had to work on Sunday and couldn't wait to get to the pub! Told me boiler was beyond economical repair and left again with no heating in the coldest spell we've had this year!! To say my house and kids was freezing is a understatement! Finally 9 days after it stopped working on a so called service and me having to chase them all the time they finally say they can't do anything and cancel my contract with them!! Now stuck with a dead boiler that I've now got to sort out. Over the year they have bombarded me with phone calls trying to get me to upgrade my ageing boiler with the same response that if its working fine im leaving alone. This company will only want to take all your money and help out the least they can !!!
