Stressful experience

Hit 55 in March so contacted Aviva to access 25% of my pension pot. Initially told it will take 3-6 weeks I’m now on week 10 & still no pension! I call at least twice a week to find out what’s happening to be told there’s a backlog at Aviva, that’s not my problem! I’ve been pushed from pillar to post each department blaming each other! Called again Thursday 8th to be told funds would be in my account on May 9th by 5.30! Wrong! Called 12th May to be told the Aviva member of staff had mis informed me & they offered a paltry £50. I politely told them to shove it, I just want my pension money!! AVOID AVOID AVOID Reviewed on: 12th May 2025

Do not use Aviva for your pension!

1
Do not use Aviva if you want to be able to access your money of get a response from them. At this point I am calling them every week and they tell me a manager will get back to me and never does. They are holding my money hostage. Worst ever customer experience. Do not give them your money! Reviewed on: 9th May 2025

Are Aviva literally the worst provider?

1
Since being opted into AVIVA pensions I've barely ever been able to access my pot and each time I have it's required a lengthy phone call despite having all my account details and access to their app on playstore (which apparently I'm not entitled to use). Each time I attempt to login online they tell me my details are incorrect (turns out they change them every 6 months). Each time to try to reset my detail via email no email arrives in my email box (spam or otherwise). I work all day mon-fri (AVIVA are also closed on weekends). I don't get how this company can operate, they are just so difficult to work with. I just can't access my money. Reviewed on: 26th April 2025

My father cannot withdraw his pension

1
My father has been trying to withdraw his pension for nearly 5 months and yet to receive anything. Has had to ring them multiple times to be told something is missing despite his own bank contacting them also. They have said they would send documents and they were never received (again 3 time on the phone to chase them) when they had been received and finally sent back no communication over the “missing” information a formal complaint was made by himself back in November and as of today still had no response to this. He is now having to use his savings to live off of he were in more unfortunate circumstances this would have sent him into debt. They cause unnecessary stress to my parents and have yet to do anything to compensate. Withholding a pensioners own money which is criminal! Reviewed on: 6th February 2025

Poorest investment pension returns

1
Having invested for around 15 years and year on year investment loss. Nearly 40pc. And that on money put in. With no returns. Now fees are eating at what’s left. They have the cheek to say put more in. Having several smaller pension pots making more money. Losses of pension not covered by ppf. Stay well clear. Reviewed on: 22nd December 2024

The total lack of Customer Service.

The total lack of Customer Service makes it hard to leave anything but a negative review. You have to wait for over an hour on the phone to speak to people, they don't answer emails and they appear to be totally incompetent. Nothing about them has been any good in my experience. I'm surprised they're still in business. Reviewed on: 10th December 2024

My husband has had a terrible experience with this outfit who are completely incompetent and unprofessional. Its taken over six months for him to get his tax free pension, he has spent hours on the phone, they kept promising to call back and it never happened, he had misinformation and had to repeatedly send through the same information, completely incompetent and then after he formally complained and rhey said they would look into it, finally came back and said it was due to third party advice!!! Really??? Taking no ownership for a completely incompetent service!! Reviewed on: 10th November 2024

Horrible waste of time when it comes to deceased

1
Don't believe these reviews. If you have a relative that passed away in a different country just know you will be months back and forward. They don't remember to process your case until you email them then they ask for more information. You couldn't ask that before I emailed? and this happened numerous times. Hopefully this process will be over soon. If he was alive I would tell him to run. Other pension schemes he had just needed our mom documents (without JP) and her bank account. Their usual sentences "its with our trustees", "they need to verify documents", "oh we couldn't contact the JP" all of this weeks and months in between. Only because we knew our brother thought pensions were a scam I am helping my mom fight for HIS money THAT HE WORKED HARD FOR. Reviewed on: 7th November 2024
