Review of the GoSkippy, Car Insurance:

I recommend you DO NOT touch this company cancell...

I recommend you DO NOT touch this company I cancelled my policy as my car was sold on, the cancellation was actually an extremely simple process with nothing I could see online suggesting hidden costs for cancelling - however this is where things took a turn for the worst - 16 days later they finally confirmed the policy was cancelled I then receive a letter to advise I owed £130 with no explanation as to what this charge was for. I then emailed to ask what the charge was for before I made the payment. As any normal person would in this situation This was at the start of September - 2 weeks later I am yet to hear back from them explaining what the charge is for. In the meantime, they sent this “charge” to a collections agency they work with called the ICB, as a scaremonger tactic to force me to pay - Unfortunately this worked as I was afraid this would affect my credit score. I have paid this fee now to which I have NO idea what its in relation too - and I am yet to receive an explanation for this fee. I am STILL waiting in Goskippy to actually email me back…. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Absolutly terrible experiance! Enough to give someone depression! GoSkippy are an insurance broker...unfortunatly the insurance company they use (Eldon insurance services) are absolutely awful! I had an accident and it took 6 months of arguing with 5 different parties to eventually get my car fixed. If I hadn't put in so much effort and argued, they would have happily returned it still broken (they actually ordered the garage to return it to me unfixed - it sat on my drive for a further month and a half after this....while I argued for it to be fixed comletely). There were several companies involved: GoSkippy (insurance broker) Eldon (insurance company) WNS (claims handling company) Somerset bridge insurance (underwriters) Patterson's (repair garage...this company was the only decent one who helped me through the process) Asside from the repair garage, none of these companies seemed to liaise with each other. They lied, were inconsistent with their own terms, made up rediculous statements due to non existent knowledge of cars and made every excuse to either shift the responsibility to another company or wriggle out using one of their some print clauses. In the end I had to get the financial ombusman involved and go and see lawyers and representatives to get advice on getting my car fixed and who was liable to fix it. Good service for a reasonable price.

Do not use this company you have been warned

DO NOT USE this insurance company you have been warned! Received a letter saying they are Cancelling my insurance within 7 days for no reason. There will also be a cancellation fee of £250. Please check there reviews they do this on a weekly Basis. I am currently taking this insurance company to the financial ombudsman Reviewed on: 24th July 2018

Cheapest out there

Reasonably priced and after a year they give you a quote cheaper than the year before unbelievable from an insurance company to actually want to keep you as a customer. Reviewed on: 17th July 2018

Rude and unhelpful

Tried to sort out no claims information which had been sent, they emailed a day before they were cancelling the policy to say the information was invalid. Phoned up to try and sort it out only to have a rude woman on the end of the phone. After a very hard phone call when asking what time they closed she hung up the phone. Wouldn’t recommend at all. Please please do not use

Yes it’s much cheaper and at first we thought great then we had an accident they cancelled my insurance demanding payments , refused to send us what the payments were for apologised and said it was a mistake then one year later more and more threats , kept ringing customer service but not getting anywhere. As soon as something goes wrong they threaten you and put phone down on you. Pay a bit more it is so worth it Terrible terrible Reviewed on: 5th June 2018

Appalling

Absolutely appalling service when I initially took out the policy.. Had 6 requests for docs which I sent every time. Eventually received an email to say cancellation was in process as they had not received the relevant docs. Emailed again and received an email to say they had received the relevant docs. 24 hours later received an email to say policy was going to be cancelled as had not provided relevant docs!!! Finally received another email confirming they did infact have the relevant docs. This took up an unnecessary amount of my valuable time. Recently changed my car, called customer service to advise of changes and told to log into portal to make changes. I did and my account advised I could make changes but the site wasn't working. Had to call customer service again and was dealt with in a very abrupt manner. I felt I was an inconvenience. Cannot wait until I can renew my policy in August and WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.
