Don’t bother use someone else’s credit card abroad

We got a Clarity credit card to use abroad as there are no transaction fees on foreign purchases. You know why? Because the fraud department puts a block on the card if you try to use it abroad, pretending that ‘fraudulent activity has been detected’ In that you’ve attempted to buy something. It worked fine for a day and a half. Then the next three transactions were stopped. I managed to buy a coffee this morning but it wouldn’t let me buy my lunch! You try the (un)help(ful) 24/... Avoid Halifax!!

I have been a loyal customer of Halifax for many years, but my recent experience has left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. If you are unfortunate enough to encounter contactless fraud, do not expect them to help you, even if you have strong, objective evidence that it wasn't you. Their lack of proper investigation, poor customer service, and refusal to acknowledge the possibility of fraud is embarrassing for a bank. I urge anyone considering Halifax to think twice and avo...
