Review of the Haven, Car Insurance:

The worst insurance SCAM

Haven taxi insurance policy... Paying for a taxi insurance £2700 a year... I had a none fault car accident. When I reported it to Haven they offered me the service to claim for the personal injury. What they didn’t say is that the insurance doesn’t cover for that!! After 10 days and have received contracts to be signed from their solicitors company which I didn’t sign, then I received an email saying that the car insurance doesn’t cover for a personal injury claim. So if you trust you just sign the contract and you are not advised that you will have to pay for that service!! On the other side, the car insurance offered me to collect my car to be repaired and drop off a courtesy car in the meantime. They kept my car in the garage for 20 days to change a bumper!!! The first 2 weeks they hadn’t done anything to the car. Why? Because then they can charge to the Third Party all these days for the hire vehicle. What car do you think they dropped off? The newest E Class, when my car is 8 years old. Why? Because they want to charge to the Third Party £350 a day for that car!! When you can get that car for £250-300 a week!!. When I told them to collect the hire vehicle after a week time to keep it, as I didn’t need it anymore, they made it so difficult and asking me so many questions about why I didn’t need the car longer? So rude stuff who almost didn’t allow me to give back the car in a different location which was more convenient for me. As I couldn’t to be at home all day waiting for them to come and collect the car. They just wanted to charge more and more to the Third Party. You have a car accident and then they call you every day to try to drop off the courtesy car to start getting money. I had to tell them every day during 3 weeks that I didn’t need the car yet as I was injured and I wasn’t driving at all. When they asked me if I could pay for a hire vehicle I told them that I couldn’t and I said to them that I had enough expenses with my own car. I couldn’t afford more expenses. Now it’s almost 3 months since the car accident happened, they are still asking me to prove that I can pay for that car!! when I already told them that I couldn’t pay for another car!! And even they told me all times that the third party will pay for that!! Why did they drop off that new car if my car worths £4000?? Why do they make everything so difficult?? Why didn’t they drop off a cheap car for me when I told them that I couldn’t afford to pay for another car!!. I’ve never seen a service like that in my life and I drive for 24 years. Stay away from this unprofessional company. I was misled at the beginning of the policy and I have been in contact with them in regards to this and they are totally dismissive of this issue. They are very misleading and deceitful, I have experienced setbacks due to this company. Avoid at all costs. Reviewed on: 6th February 2023

Deceived by this company

Please be aware people, I took out motor trade polciy with this company and some of the details they provided me with were false and deceiving and as a result I being penalised. I will not leave this matter and I will take it all the way to court to get justice. I was advised as a motor trader I do not need to add my trade car on the mid database just the peronsal cars which later on I find out this is not the case. They are full of lies and they will deceive you as a business. Please stay away at all costs. Reviewed on: 31st January 2023

Fraud of a company, only want to TL the vehicle when its perfectly repairable as an engineer said that they called out but still wanna TL and want to take my excess when its easily proven not my fault. Accident was back last 6 months and its still going on. Customer service is crap and if you ask for a manger or supervisor apparently they don't take customer calls. Reviewed on: 23rd November 2022

Rip Off - beware of the small print!

Took out car insurance for my son through Haven, via Acorn Insurance - his first policy as a new driver, included a "Black Box". The box monitored his driving habits, which isn't such a bad thing, but he also had limited mileage allowed, and fines of 15p per mile for exceeding his allowance. Tried to up the mileage allowance as he had change places of work and had to travel further - but their additional costs for doing this were prohibitive - so had to stump up an additional £50 per month for the additional mileage he was covering. Have now CANCELLED the policy as have found an alternative insurer who is over £1000 less per year AND with no black box or additional charges. Worth the hundreds of pounds Haven charged for cancelling their policy!!! Reviewed on: 7th September 2022

Shocking customer service and very rude approach with customer

I never been had a experience with any other insurance companies. Had a issue which is not my fault. But still they ask 100’s questions, to find how to deny the the claim. Unethical and unprofessional staffs. Very rude approach. Never been recommended anyone. Reviewed on: 21st August 2022

Scam robbed me blind

I will share I took out a policy on 29/04/2021 The emailed to say it’s been cancelled 09/05/2021 I rung them to ask what’s going on. They told me they have sent a letter. (Not received) there no way to tell me what they wanted. When I asked for proof of this letter she kept saying I will send you another (but they don’t know what they wanted ) They said we will refund but with fees I’m down just over £200 and the payment won’t be there for up to 14 days. This is a complete scam I will keep reporting I will keep emailing and Ringing until I get a full refund. DO NOT USE. No email No phone call. No letters The only proof I got the van was even insured was the fact she sent it to me today when I kicked off and asked for the business terms. Funny thing that one got through fine.
