Excellent bank account with a really good app that is clear and easy to use. Premier comes with a small zero percent overdraft and it's easy to draw additional lending when required. Reviewed on: 18th April 2025

Criteria getting stricter

Criteria requirements are getting stricter meaning they’ll be taking people off premier accounts. In terms of the benefits provided, things like travel insurance, and newer heath related bits are good, but interest rates themselves are not so good (at least in comparison to non premier bank accounts). All under one roof

I do all of my banking as well as my mortgage with HSBC as the service is excellent and the mobile banking app very easy to use as well as secure. The benefits of the Premier Account including travel insurance, HSBC Health and access to excellent loan rates makes it a great account to be a part of. Reviewed on: 26th February 2025

I am a premier account holder but turning 75 hardly gives you any benefits and they are about to change the goal posts by requiring at least £100k in your account. Reviewed on: 26th February 2025

HSBC Premier T&C Changes detrimental to customers

3
HSBC has recently announced that it will be amending the eligibility criteria for the Premier account, from income or savings of £50k to £100k. The FSCS compensation limit is £85k. This means that if HSBC goes bust and you have £100k of investments, only £85k is guaranteed to be returned. For people that may need to take a career break that means that you have to have £100k invested if you want to retain the account, but why is HSBC asking customers to take this risk. Why is the investment not capped at £85k. I think HSBC should reconsider the Premier criteria. Reviewed on: 16th January 2025

Ridiculous time to replace a credit card.

We needed to replace our credit card. We understood it would take four working days but after contacting them we were told it would be 10 days. If it arrives in the next post it will be 11 days, hardly a premiere service. Credit cards from other providers arrived after three and four days. Reviewed on: 7th July 2024
