Sounds flashy but it does not deliver any benefit when you need.

I have been a Premier customer for many years but I don't find any benefit. Whenever I have tried to seek help from my Premier Manager, which keeps changing, all he does is sends me 0800 number of the team I should speak instead of guiding / helping. So he is no better than Google. Secondly, as part of the Premier, you get travel insurance. I had an emergency and had to cancel my travel. I thought I had a travel insurance being a Premier customer but it was of no use. HSBC uses Aviva for travel insurance. And Aviva has outsourced travel claims to Cega group. They are measured on how not to pay and with long tail no customer empathy or relationship. So it is useless and I recommend to not to rely. With my experience, Premier status is of no benefit unless you want to show off. Use your money smartly as HSBC is not competitive for any thing in any case. Neither best mortgage not best ISA. So why even consider. Reviewed on: 18th February 2018

Worst Premier service

They blocked my card for no reason and after 2 weeks still haven't received the new one. Called them thrice, told me they'll check and report back to me but never called me back Reviewed on: 11th December 2017

Look after their clients

I have been a premier banking customer for about 7 years and although now there are a number of challenger banks on the scene, which offer really interesting products for more modern banking I would hate to be without the dependability and great customer service of HSBC. I am a relatively young Premier customer as I got upgraded when I received an inheritance, I still find the range of products offered good for my lifestyle. Whenever I have an issue with any aspect of my banking, I have always been confident that HSBC would resolve the issue and they have. I feel like I am dealing with humans with them who treat me as an individual. I have a few bug bears though: The credit card. It is so bog standard it hurts. No cashback. The points take ages to accumulate so long in fact that you forget about them. I recently had a batch expire because I did not have enough to redeem anything. Basically it does not feel very premier. The savings rates are abysmal. I really ought to move my cash elsewhere! The children’s account are completely no frills. I would really appreciate HSBC doing something to reward their custom or st least make banking more engaging for them. The bottom line is over the years I have grown to trust HSBC (much more than other providers). That is really important in banking. Reviewed on: 10th November 2017

terrible service, inflexible and unhelpful

HSBC sent us a KYC pack to fill in, in spite of us having been customers for over 20 years. We had just moved house and explained than we did not yet have the required utility bills to provide them with proof of address. They froze the account, stopped an incoming deposit and bounced all the direct debits. Customer services just kept repeating the same nonsense about their procedures. We closed the account. HSBC refused to transfer the direct debit details to our new account, saying we still had not complied with their KYC procedures. I will never recommend them to anyone. Thinking of switching

Have been without internet banking as my secure key has given up and branch had 'run out' last time I walked past one that was open. Call today took 5 min to be answered. In the grand scheme of things not that bad...but calls to premier banking are normally answered much quicker 15-30 secs. Reviewed on: 17th December 2016

Persevered lot but still getting worse

HSBC ask you to reach Premier status. Premier lounges in Airports - well good luck with that. Now charge you £30 for transactions over 10k. So 50k in to reach Premier account status but Co-Op and Santander allow you to transfer 100k without charges and even after that limit it is still cheaper than being a Premier holder with HSBC. There is absolutely no benefit other than a headache you will get for that service Reviewed on: 5th December 2016
