They will take your money and dismiss claims

I was with laka for years, at some point I decided to pause my policy because I wasn't cycling and thought my bicycle was safe enough in my building. the same week I paused it it got stolen. Since I was still insured as that month was gonna be paid for I went on the website to resume my policy and obviously started a claim. They discharged me to another company called Zurich which then arranged a video call with me to basically get all the facts as laka found it suspicious. They tried to claim that I was not insured but if I still paid two months of cover after that pause so the entire time I was covered. then Zurich said they are still waiting for police to confirm my report. It has been about 6 months! I am seriously considering making a complain to ombudsman as this is not ethical at all and I feel robbed after paying my insurance for so long and then being dismissed like this. I have been a Laka user these past two years, and it's the easiest-to-use insurance provider I have ever dealt with! I love the monthly breakdowns and how user-friendly they make their statements/mails/follow-ups. Filling a complain is super easy and their amazing customer service takes care of everything! Great innovative insurance!

Great setup process, simple, easy to understand, and fair. Customers pay a fair share to cover all claims across the base, which varies based on claims volumes. Enforcing use of quality locks etc should keep claims down. Reviewed on: 1st October 2024
