Review of the Lloyds Bank, Car Insurance:

Consistently terrible

1
They have been consistently terrible, my car was hit on the 31st of January and as of today (29 March) they have taken the courtesy car away from me a month ago (2nd March) and have not paid me a penny they agreed a figure and then decided that their independent assessor was wrong after agreeing it with me. I have now been told that after 8 weeks they will give me an answer in 4 weeks as to what is happening (so 12 weeks to get an answer), no returned calls and cannot be bothered that I do not have a car or the money to replace it. Terrible company that is a front for BISL Ltd and Covea insurance, just corrupt and they could care less about you as a customer. So my next attempt is a 14 day letter and then of too County Court let the judge decide. Reviewed on: 1st April 2022

Have to opt out of renewal

1
I went with Lloyds bank car insurance because they gave me a competitive quote. This year it's the old story; loyal customers are penalised and the premium has gone up by over £40 despite my having made no claims. I have found a much cheaper quote so I phoned Lloyds to cancel my renewal. Apparently it's an automatic one so you have to opt out. After 6 minutes of recording telling me to visit web site etc the phone started to ring and ring and ring. I eventually gave up after 17 minutes and visited the website to cancel my renewal and guess what; you can only cancel by phoning the number I gave up on. I've cancelled my direct debit and Lloyds Bank will no longer be "by my side" Reviewed on: 2nd October 2020

Scam Artists

After having an accident which was not my fault, they sided with the other party without even trying to win my claim for me. I did not renew my policy but they went ahead and auto renewed without informing me they were going to do so. Falsely claimed that I had signed up for auto renew which I would never do as I like to switch to the cheapest insurance. .. So they lied about that, trying to take money from a bank account that had been closed for a while. They threatened to try to do so again without permission. I felt pressured into paying for coverage that I had not requested but was told that they would not incur the cancellation fee of £55.00. Just waiting to see what happens next now? Very bad company and would strongly advise all drivers to avoid insuring with this company! Don't do it! Reviewed on: 10th August 2020

DISGRACEFUL BANK

1
Im with Lloyds for 12 years now. I have manage my business from my personal bank account for over 6 years. Now, in a very difficult time, they dont let me to open my business account to apply for the bounce back loan. I got all requirements it needs but even that they are not helping. But to call every month and offer insurances and to "upgrade" my account (to pay more monthly fees), they are the first ones. Very disappointed and frustrated with their behaviour. Moving from there soon. Reviewed on: 1st August 2020

Avoid like the plague

FIRST AWFULL REVIEW EVER!!! please be aware of this company and avoid at all costs. I tried to make a claim initially but as I had and SP50 I did not make them aware of they were only willing to pay a small percentage of my claim. Which for the record I totally understood and didn’t have an issue with what so ever. I also had no issue with the increase to my further payments. What I was disgusted about was how they were only willing to pay out peanuts towards my claim but then had the audacity to back charge me the months I underpaid. I can not see how they can have it Botha ways and have their cake and eat it. Either pay out the claim and back charge me or dont pay out the claim but don’t then come back for the money. As a result I had to not only pay £1100 out of my own money for the car to be fixed but I then also had a further £228 taken as extra charges from the insurance. I feel totally loop holed and would strongly suggest you look else where for mother insurance Martin Clements Reviewed on: 28th May 2020

Would be Zero / Absolute scam artists

I had a minor accident which involved a 3rd party hitting me on my side of the road while speeding. The claim team were tremendously helpful to start. Until I refused there ridiculous fees because I didn’t click legal assistance. I had to organize my own rental vehicle and repair which dragged on for 9 months in total. Now fast forward another year and the morons that be have decided that driving on the wrong side of the road is acceptable and are awarding a 50/50 split. Goodbye to the thousands out of my pocket for hire vehicle, vat on parts and excess. STAY WELL CLEAR. PAY A LITTLE MORE WITH A REPUTABLE FIRM Reviewed on: 30th April 2020

Rip off merchants start to finish.

I'm aware that Lloyds Bank Car Insurance do read some of these reviews and do their best to have them removed, On that basis this is an honest no punches pulled review. I started my Car Insurance with Lloyds Bank car Insurance on December 23rd, and paid them a deposit with my card, and took out my cover. On December the 30th The car I had insured had to be returned, and on the same day I returned the car I phoned up Lloyds Bank Car Insurance to cancel my policy. I got almost all the way through and they put the phone down on me. As I thought all had been done and because I was also dealing with family bereavements, so concentrated on that. Fast Forward 3 months and noticed that deductions were still being taken by Lloyds Car insurance from my account. I contacted Lloyds Car Insurance and they told me that I had not cancelled my insurance and they had no record of my call telling me that they record ALL their calls. They then told me to ask the garage I returned my car to whether they could send me an email confirming that the car involved was indeed returned. They then told me that the email was not adequate proof as it didnt mention the exact return date. I contacted the garage again asking them to send me an email with the exact return date on it. The garage then sent me an email with the exact date on it,which I forwarded to Lloyds Car insurance. They then mailed me back saying this was still not adequate proof, as It had been forwarded to me not direct to them, and implying that I could have modified the email to suit my needs. I then asked the garage to send it direct to Lloyds Car insurance, which they did. You wont be surprised to hear they then decided to move the goalposts yet again, and tell me the proof was not acceptable as it was not on headed note paper and/or was not in the form of a PDF. The garage explained to me that because of coronavirus they could not access headed note paper as the business was closed until they were given notice that they could open up again after lockdown.. Lloyds have been obstructive to the maximum, and seem to be doing everything in their power to avoid paying me back what they owe me. I have spoken to 7 (YES 7) diffferent people regards this matter and everyone just shoves me on to someone else to deal with this. All I want is for them to refund me my deposit as well as all the direct debits they continued to take from me. I understand that they might want to deduct 7 days insurance from the total but based on the fact that it has taken three months to get this far I'm hoping as a goodwill gesture they might refund me everything I've paid out, but I;m not holding my breath. Stay well away from Lloyds Car Insurance unless you want months of messing about. Reviewed on: 17th April 2020
