Review of the LV (Liverpool Victoria), Car Insurance:

Great customer service

5
My first thoughts on LV is the great customer service they offer. No matter how you contact them they are always so helpful, friendly and willing to sort out whatever you want help with. They have a great website, easy to use offering a wide range of products. They offer good competitive quotes for insurance and allow me to tailor my quotes to what I want and need. Whilst I have never had to claim from them I feel they are a good reliable company offering good value and service. Reviewed on: 11th July 2017

Liars, liars, liars

We had car insurance with them for 7 years. We got a home insurance with them this year not knowing if we start it 2 days before the another expire then none of the insurance company will pay for us (which we found out is another lie too). So we called them and the guy who we talked to said he will just change the date on the insurance on the date. We got an email from them they cancelled the old policy and they will send the new one shortly. Hours later we still didn't get anything. Then we decided to sign into our account and there was a higher quote (and legal expenses wasn't even included in it). The guy didn't even mention we will have to go online and sign up for a new, more expensive contract, he just said he will change the date and he even wrote in the email we will get the new one (without doing anything from our side). So we called back the LV and for about 15 minutes talk on the phone they were still not able to fix the problem, and they tried to tell us we will have to pay for the more expensive new insurance even though it was their fault, because they lied to us. So next year when we will have our renewal date for our car insurance we will go to another insurance company with that too. Very very very bad customer service, You want us to pay for Your own fault. You should fire that customer service representative and train Your workers the right way. Oh and we wanted pet insurance with them also, but no way. Reviewed on: 4th December 2019

They've become too expensive

Been insuring the car with them for a number of years but they've hiked the price up again this year and enough is enough won't be renewing insurance, and rip off company don't value customer loyalty no wonder the FCA is taking action against company's like this . Reviewed on: 16th November 2019

LV Failings

1
I was pulled over by the police for having no insurance. I had in fact swapped my insurance from one family car to another. The insurance issued was a combination of the two registrations, I was told the insurance was for the correct make and model. I phoned and asked for breakdown facility to be added to my policy, I was told there was no need as I was covered by my membership to Civil Servants Motoring Club. I broke down, and was told that there was nothing against my vehicle registration, I contacted Boundless (New name for CSMC) to be told that I had to get LV to adjust my policy to include breakdown. I could pay £90 for the one off breakdown, but would have to take out a policy once the fault was repaired. Reviewed on: 5th November 2019

The Worst car insurance on the market

1
LV are the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with a star is too much. On Oct 4th 2019 I was hit at high speed by a drunk driver who was also insured by LV. My injuries are all over and I am recovering, I have spent over 20 hours, spoken to at least 10 different people to be in a stalemate. The other driver has admitted liability, I was told this perhaps by an honest niave Marty Barrett, then three days later LV deny the call took place, they have told me the police informed LV of the accident, the police have stated twice they have not, LV state that no liability had been admitted. The legal cover I have is useless not one piece of advice or help, in fact the man I have been dealing with is not even a qualified solicitor, although he likes to think he is. My car is a right off and I have been offered £900 under market value, in fact the car they compared my car to had 50k difference in mileage and was a private seller. The whole experience has been vile, rude staff and noone has a clue what is going on, a stalling tactic as they know they will have to pay out. I am a completely innocent party who has not only been attacked by a drunk driver, his and my insurer LV are also attacking me, just terrible. I am now so depressed by their behaviour with no future. My life has been turned upside down, I have no home, no job as a result of a drunk driver, LV have not assisted in these matters in any way. On the 16th Oct I was suppose to start my new life in Jersey, new home, new job. I have been instructed by LV's legal that I must not leave England pending investigation, it is cleancut, I was hit by a drunk driver. No offer of medical in Jersey, the physio they offer are all booked and they only deal with one company in the UK. They will not give any advice or help in anyway. Steer clear of this most awful insurance company Reviewed on: 15th October 2019

Competitive

I have been insuring my car with LV for more years than I care to remember and have been impressed with their service when I have required it. In addition, their quotations for me as a civil servant, have consistently been far lower than all others. Reviewed on: 12th September 2019

Extremely competitive price

After quotes of over £350 for my annual car insurance, LV managed an extremely competitive £190 which included legal cover/windows etc... A fair price as far as I'm concerned having 10 years no claims intact at 47 years of age. No other company came close to this quote although I'm unsure why. Very good.
