Falls way short of the mark when needed, buyer beware!

Very poor customer service and product knowledge by what we thought was a reputable company. After a non fault accident (we were not even in the car) and the gent who was reponsible admited liability on the phone to his own insurer. Great we thought, this should be dealt with promptly. We were wrong, a very small scuff that needed mended took nearly 4 weeks before the garage even got the car. The point of contention was that my car needed to be repaired by the manafacturers approved repair centre to maintain my paint and anti corrosion warranties and as far as m&s were concerned they could not care less. They certainly did not make any attempt to fight my corner or resolve the issue, it became a blame game and if it wasn't the underwriters fault ( whom we contacted and told they knew nothing about it) then it was the other insurance company and then it was enterprise who they use in the event of non fault accident, then it was a company called IMS who I don't even know who they are. As you can see we were being given the run around, M&S had absolutely no control over this minor incident whatsoever, thank God it wasn't more serious because I have lost all faith that they are competant to supply trustworthy insurance policies. At one point I had a manager threatening me of a loss of my 10 years no claims and having to pay my excess for this non fault accident. Awful Insurance Broker

There's a saying, you find out what a company is really like when things go wrong and sadly if you have to claim then thats when you find out. M&S have just rebadged a poorly run insurance provider, pay the extra, its not worth the hassle if you need to claim, it's all outsourced Reviewed on: 4th July 2023

Scandlous service

I was involved in an incident on the 11th May 2023 and on the 26th June I am still no nearer getting any money to cover the damage on my car caused by the 3rd party. I have spoken to a representative from M&S insurance on numerous occasions and although they make promises to follow this up, it is obvious that it has not been. I am extremely frustrated as anyone in my situation would be. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this company. Reviewed on: 26th June 2023

Been a customer now for a while after deciding to up grade our car for something bigger called to swap over our new vehicle. to be told we needed to cancel our policy on our old car then take out a new policy which would mean me paying another massive deposit and also they had just taken a payment for our old car this is just a blatant scam to get more money I have taken this to the insurance ombudsman to sort out this company do your self a favour and avoid these people like a rash. terrible customer service will try anything to get there hands on your cash very under handed Reviewed on: 17th June 2023

Had an accident Monday evening, and now Wednesday afternoon. No hire car sorted, no garage given for repair Been on the phone to them since first thing yesterday. Keep saying they have sent the paperwork over for a car and got absolutely nothing. A completely waste time. Reviewed on: 24th May 2023

Appalling breakdown service

I had a puncture at home and called M&S RAC. Breakdown service at about 11.30am. Told they would be there within 2 hours. At 3.30pm, I rang again to chase. Told they would be there in 2 hours. Gave a ridiculous excuse that traffic was delayed because of an accident on M6 near Birmingham which is about 200 miles from where I live in rural Northumberland. Engineer finally arrived at about 9.00pm. I was not seriously inconvenienced as I was at home but dread to think what would have happened if I had wait nearly 10 hours at roadside. What really upsets me is the deliberate lies, misinformation and lack of communication. I shall never use M&S insurance again. Reviewed on: 28th March 2023

I had an accident last year which was eventually settled by their underwriters when I was assured this was not my fault and no blame would be attached to me. When my renewal notice arrived it had increased the premium by 117% from £260 to £565. When I called the customer services I was told that was the price because I had made a claim! I said I had been found not at fault she said but you made a claim. And continued to repeat that whatever I said. I cancelled my policy and found a policy which was almost half their quote. INCONSIDERATE AND UNHELPFULL!!

I have been insured with M&S for the last 9 months, i have just moved address and called up to change my address, Changing my address made my monthly payments go from £80 per month to £300 per month - i have been driving for 7+ years and think this is diabolical how m&S think they can charge loyal customers this amount of money They did not want to help me with my payment they just told me to cancel and then i would have to pay a cancellation fee! in hard times like we are in today i would not recommend this insurance provided to anyone absolutely disgusting Reviewed on: 2nd February 2023

Exceeding Expectations

Marks and Spencer (often referred to as M&S) is a major British multinational retailer headquartered in London, England. It is a chain of high-street and online stores that sell clothing, home products, and food products. But guess what, that's not all they do. I recently had the opportunity to try out a new car insurance provider and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. The coverage offered was comprehensive and included all the essential features I was looking for. The process of purchasing the policy was easy and straightforward, with clear explanations of the different options available. The customer service team was also very helpful and responsive in answering any questions I had. One of the things I appreciated most about this provider was their commitment to reliability. I never had to worry about whether I was covered in case of an accident or other unexpected events. The peace of mind M&S gave me was invaluable. Overall, I highly recommend this car insurance provider to anyone in need of a reliable and comprehensive coverage. 2 weeks and still no decision on work

Was reversed into. Qualified for non blame claim. Eventually, sent car to be assessed. Assessment was easily a repair job. However, when assessment was sent back to "engineering" to make a decision on whether the car will be written off or repaired, apparently this takes 7 working days? Anyone educated at nursery school level could see it was a repair of a small dent, no bigger than a football. Car repair shop can't book me in till decision is made, repair shop as things stand I'm looking at late Jan 23 to be brought in. Accident happened on 18 Nov 22. It's now 02 Dec 22 and still no appointment booked to get work done. Of course it's COVIDs fault. Amateurs, stick to overcharging people for so called posh food Reviewed on: 2nd December 2022
