Exceeding Expectations

Marks and Spencer (often referred to as M&S) is a major British multinational retailer headquartered in London, England. It is a chain of high-street and online stores that sell clothing, home products, and food products. But guess what, that's not all they do. I recently had the opportunity to try out a new car insurance provider and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. The coverage offered was comprehensive and included all the essential features I was looking for. The process of purchasing the policy was easy and straightforward, with clear explanations of the different options available. The customer service team was also very helpful and responsive in answering any questions I had. One of the things I appreciated most about this provider was their commitment to reliability. I never had to worry about whether I was covered in case of an accident or other unexpected events. The peace of mind M&S gave me was invaluable. Overall, I highly recommend this car insurance provider to anyone in need of a reliable and comprehensive coverage. 2 weeks and still no decision on work

Was reversed into. Qualified for non blame claim. Eventually, sent car to be assessed. Assessment was easily a repair job. However, when assessment was sent back to "engineering" to make a decision on whether the car will be written off or repaired, apparently this takes 7 working days? Anyone educated at nursery school level could see it was a repair of a small dent, no bigger than a football. Car repair shop can't book me in till decision is made, repair shop as things stand I'm looking at late Jan 23 to be brought in. Accident happened on 18 Nov 22. It's now 02 Dec 22 and still no appointment booked to get work done. Of course it's COVIDs fault. Amateurs, stick to overcharging people for so called posh food Reviewed on: 2nd December 2022

Complete failure to keep promises

Was told I would have to wait 3 weeks for a replacement windscreen. When I spoke to customer services they constantly interrupted me and said there was nothing they could or would do dispite promises made both in the policy and previously on the phone. Useless, avoid Reviewed on: 25th August 2022

Unable to add 2nd vehicle online

I purchased a 2nd car and needed to add it to my insurance. (No issues with the policy before, but then I have never claimed on it!) I attempted to get a quote for the 2nd car online - this was late on a Saturday night after purchasing the car - surely, it should be a simple task to add the reg and details to update the policy, right? Nope. Couldn't find it on the site, so went to their chat: "Agent: If you need to add any additional cover to your policy such as a second vehicle, please contact one of our Customer Service Representatives. ... If you require assistance, you can contact one of our Customer Service Representatives by calling 0344 412 2157." Called the number. Obviously the office is now closed - so I am unable to insure my new vehicle until at least 10am tomorrow. WHY can't this simple addition be automated? WHY do I need to speak to someone? Really poor. Car insurance

Incompetent

My car hit whilst parked legally 5 months ago, which they declared a write-off without looking at the damage. They are deducting the excess because they don't know who's at fault?! The claim has still not been paid and keeps getting passed to different organizations that don't honor the value already agreed to, current down about £700 from what was originally agreed. Charges for everything

Charged for change of address, change of reg number and then, when I sold my car, wanted to charge for change of vehicle. I was told that the current underwriter didn’t quote for my new model! So, of course, there was an admin fee to change the vehicle. As a result I insured my new car with the insurer who had provided the drive away cover (who also quoted a cheaper price) . I cancelled the M&S policy and, guess what, was charged TWICE for the cancellation- once the M&S ‘admin’ fee and once the underwriters ‘admin’ fee. In all I paid £100 in admin fees on top of my policy. Reviewed on: 29th January 2022

Fees for everything!!!!

For every change (including change of address) you want to make to your policy, they charge £25!! And they don't make this aware to people when they sign up. With other insurance providers those would have been free. Reviewed on: 16th December 2021
