My son 20 passed he's test May insurance with a black box £2400 ... deposit of £900 payed then instalments of £150each month... after 3 emails to say they are cancelling due to speeding on every occasion he rang them to see where he was going wrong .. your speeding on this road that road .. omg what a joke .. when. Speaking to the so called idiot that does decided to answer the phone .. he says ow .the black box don't know the speed of the roads you use .. ring us in 72 hours .. then another 72 hours then cancel he's insurance after paying them £1800 in total. Crap service day light robbery of your hard earned cash AVOID at all costs if I had the time I would take these people to court for theft .. of my sons hard earned money ....should not be an insurance company Reviewed on: 19th October 2017

BUNCH OF THIEVES

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS COMPANY FOR CAR INSURANCE I wish I could give a review with no stars. This company is the modern day equivalent of highway robbery. DO NOT USE THEM, PAY THE EXTRA AND GO ELSEWHERE. Read most other reviews and they say the same thing. I took out insurance on my car(I'm 52) with my son as a named driver so he could get some experience before he gets his own car(he's 18). I paid an initial payment of £580 with monthly instalments of £98(not 100% on the figures), I had made a mistake with regards my no claims so they adjusted the cost by £300 to a monthly sum up to £130. Last night I got the dreaded email off them...."YOUR INSURANCE HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO EXCESS SPEED". I rang them this morning and indeed I had sped, 81mph in a 50(no excuse for that) but it was just one minor indiscretion on a road that is probably 1 mile long, if it was a regular thing then fair enough, but once....so I phoned them up, absolutely no give with them at all, so now due to one offence my insurance is cancelled and I now have to declare when I try to buy new insurance that I have had insurance refused or cancelled which no doubt will increase the premiums when I go to an honest insurance company. So this months insurance has cost me £580 plus all the other charges they are bound to add on plus £85 to have the Telematics box removed, and I'll bet you a months premium that they will take the second months premium out of my bank before i get there to cancel the standing order. ** AVOID ** Do yourselves a favour & look elsewhere, insurance cancelled due to a modification, a 2ml stripe on front & back bumper, that hadn't crossed my mind as being a mod has I hadn't noticed it !! if u are informed ur policy is being cancelled, cancel the policy yourself before the 7 days is up, then you won't loose all ur deposit & u haven't got to declare to having a policy cancelled. My daughters insurance was with more than and black box by smart wheels which gave false readings customer service of both are rubbish my argument with them is I can prove my issues with them but they donŠ—Èt want to know. Can any body help ? Reviewed on: 15th October 2017

NEVER Insure with MORE THAN

So now it's Monday and we emailed MORE THAN last Wednesday regarding faulty readings from their digital box. They have still not got in touch. MORE THAN are falsely accusing my son of driving 100mph on Wednesday at 9am. When in actual fact, my son's car was stationary parked at his works car park at 8.45am and he was in the workshop working on a customer's vehicle. He has his manager and work colleagues to verify and withness this. However MORE THAN have sent a letter stating that they will end his contract in 48 hours without checking the device and will keep his money. Totally unfair and unjust Criminal. My son is only 19 years old and has been saving for over three years to afford to pay for his car and insurance. He has paid MORE THAN the full fee of £2400. They will not refund him the money. Which means He can't afford to pay for insurance elsewhere. He requires the car to get to work. Without Insurance he can't drive to work. Because of MORE THAN this young kid and his career is well suffer. Absolutely disgusting MORE THAN Reviewed on: 2nd October 2017

YOUNG DRIVERS WATCH OUT.. AVOID MORE THAN CAR INSURANCE AT ALL COSTS I received an email from More Than stating that i was driving at 100mph on 26/9/17 at 9:02 am I proceeded to call them and explained to them that this was not possible for many reasons, yet I am still being told that even thought the problem could be a fault with my box.. my insurance will be cancelled and I will lose the amount of money I paid for my policy. This is ridiculous! I have since found out that this is something More Than is known for doing to young drivers like me.. an easy way to take our money and SCAM us out of our car insurance. We are easy targets, as we are young and will not put up a fight as we do not have the experience.. However I will not let this go without defending myself and proving that More Than are simply taking advantage of me and many others like me. I am 19 and just started driving. I thought More Than Smart Wheels seemed a reasonable price (although every company was a similar price) and I didn't mind the idea of a black box, as I know I drive responsibly - if I didn't I wouldn't have passed the practical test and pass plus. Now just to clarify, when i say 'reasonable price' I do not mean a few hundred pounds.. We are talking over £2000.. just for car insurance alone! At my age working as an apprentice this is a hell of a lot of money and something i have saved up for for a long time. I would not risk throwing it all away just to speed knowing full well I have a black box and WILL be caught, all within a month of purchasing my insurance - yet this is what I am being accused of. There are several instances where More Than have given me an incorrect score on the app, for example once when i was driving down the road to the shop, they minused 3 points from me for speeding when I definitely was not speeding. The main incident is them accusing me of driving at 100mph down the M60 at 9am. Now lets break this down and explain why this is not only UNTRUE, yet IMPOSSIBLE: - At 9 am I was currently at work and my car was stationary in the car park. I have managers and work colleagues that can collaborate this - Between 7am and 9am the M60 is practically gridlocked.. It is extremely difficult to even do 20mph on most days let alone anywhere near 70-100mph! - There are average speed cameras and the limit is 50mph - if i was speeding at 100mph surely a camera must have caught me. They are average speed cameras after all I was given no prior warnings and have been an excellent driver since i got my insurance. I have had this insurance for less than a month and as i mentioned earlier would not drive so recklessly and risk jeopardizing it. It used to take me hours to travel to work by bus and so this is something i appreciate very much. I spent over 1 hour on the phone already and was simply put down and accused again and again of something that is nothing more than an error on YOUR SYSTEM. If you have faulty machines why are you not solving that problem instead of blaming innocent drivers? Or is this just a scam and now MORE THAN you have been caught??? Reviewed on: 28th September 2017

Truly Awful

If you are thinking of insuring with this Company ... DONT !! A total rip off from start to finish and without doubt the worst customer service I have ever coe across....You will pay an extortionate amount for extra miles and there is NO reward for safe driving. My sons 12 months has come to an end and he has paid 3 times the amount quoted. You will also receive many threatening letters and emails about cancelling your policy etc etc. Nothing more than a scam to rip off young drivers. DO NOT TAKE OUT INSURANCE WITH THIS COMPANY ! Disastrous customer service.

I switched to More Than following a better quote than my existing car insurance. I admitted a recent claim - this being for a stone chipped windscreen during the previous year. The screen was repaired but this proved unsatisfactory so as requested by the windscreen firm, I contacted them again and they did as promised and replaced the screen. I reported this as a single claim. However sadly it had been reported as two claims in error by the previous insurer. More Than told me I had misled them. I explained the situation. They saw fit to demand further money despite my explanation and then withdrew my insurance. This left my car uninsured. It took three months before I received a letter setting the facts out and reinstating my insurance, and also stating that I was in no way duty bound to admit withdrawal of insurance in future car insurance applications. The offshore customer relations were just appalling. There was a profound lack of listening and understanding and all this confounded by a language barrier. The only way I was able to get anywhere was to insist on speaking to a higher authority - something which I do not find comes naturally to me. Never again! Reviewed on: 7th September 2017

Disastrous customer service.

I switched to More Than since their quote was cheaper than my existing car insurance. During the previous year I had a stone chip in my windscreen. It was initially repaired but later had to be replaced. I stated I had made a claim when switching to More Than. However although this was all bound up in a single claim they saw it as two separate claims - it had been recorded in error as such by the previous insurer. More Than failed to listen - partly obscured by language barriers (Offshore call centre) and finally withdrew my insurance. It took three months for them to write a letter of apology and reinstate my insurance stating that this withdrawal need not be mentioned in future insurance applications! During this three months my car was uninsured and therefore off road! Fortunately I had another car so was able to keep working. Reviewed on: 7th September 2017
