Insurers From Hell

I fitted the device and all good. Decided to top up miles to be on the safe side and paid for 2000. extra miles. Teir next email failed to confirm top up. I had to query it to get confirmation of 2000 top up. Monthly usage emails. Then an email saying I was running out of miles. I replied that I wasn't. They replied that indeed I wasn't. No apology. Then an email saying I had run out of miles. I replied that I hadn't. They replied O yeah, you haven't. You still have **** miles left. Again, no apology. Absolutely the worst outfit I've ever come across. No wonder they're going out of business. Reviewed on: 9th January 2024

Parent peace of mind, so good.

My daughter is half way through her secoand year with More Than and as a parent it's superb. We can check her driving score and each time she gets a minus score she is very interested to find out where she went wrong. Any parent that is upset that heir child has had their insurance cancelled due to speed etc must be getting fibbed to by their offspring. Our daughter goes off to uni ( only 30 miles) and we ask her to txt when she gets their - more often than not, she forgets. No probs for us because we can use the app to see exactly where her car is parked. I think the black box is superb and she gets her rewards because she earns them with her good driving. Cheaper insurance and peace of mind - perfect. Reviewed on: 8th May 2017

Bad scoring

Why am i given a -8 on smoothness while im in traffice during rush hour times? And im always staying in or under the speed limit why am I getting penalised getting -10 at a tesco car park doing 10mph?! Reviewed on: 27th April 2017

Awful totally destroy youngsters future

My daughter has a policy with me named on it , I have used the car a few times and when I've been with her driving she's good with speed she had couple of speed warnings over slightly and has now had her insurance cancelled With no chance of driving now as insurance will be through the roof But I'm thinking maybe it was my driving causing the speed as I know she is good. But more than don't care I feel fines in place are better cancellation I can understand if have an accident or something Feel totally ripped off and my daughter in shatters Reviewed on: 20th April 2017

Poor customer service

After being promised a rewards card when joining and buying insurance, no rewards card came until 1 year and 8 months later. £58 had been taken off because the card had not been registered within the first three months of my insurance. I DIDNT HAVE THE CARD UNTIL EARLY TWO YEARS LASTER - after phoning multiple times asking for it to be sent out. Phoned up and asked why this had happened as was greeted with rude staff and constant requests to call back or being passed on to other useless staff. Reviewed on: 11th April 2017

Insurance got cancelled for "modifications"

When applying for the insurance I didn't think as a different radio would be a modification to the car therefore I didn't put it down. After having the insurance for about a week I arranged for the black box to be fitted. The man that turned up looked at my car for a while and made some phone calls, he then came to the conclusion that the black box is not going to be fitted as; the radio has been changed, there is a small dent in the side and the parcel shelf had holes in it (due to the previous owner removing his speakers). When the man left he said to me to stay near the phone as the insurance company (more than) would contact me the same day, this did not happen. Also he said he would probably see me next week after I had changed the car to so that there was no modifications. After about 4 days I recieved a email saying my insurance would be cancelled and my details had been given out to a group of car insurance companies. They also said they would charge £300 as cancellation fee, as this was my first car the insurance was already expensive at £907 so my dad paid as a birthday present. He was not happy to hear that he would only be getting £607 back after only having insurance for under a month. I started looking for new insurance companies but now I have to declare that my insurance was cancelled, the next cheapest is now about £2000 more. This is why I would not recommend more than insurance to anyone ! Reviewed on: 9th March 2017

Black box inconsistent

Bought this insurance for my 17 year old daughter and me - foolishly thought 5000 miles would be enough and have had to pay another £360 to get through the year - my mistake.. I welcomed the black box because it was like an extra grumpy parent in the car. My daughter was initially proud of her 10 scores but there is no consistency on how to achieve them. The box lies. She went to work 4 miles away last week and the box says she was driving round for 4 hours?? Other time she has had a -10 score for usage, where she has driven from home, stopped for petrol, been to tesco and driven home - all in daylight, smoothly and within the speed limit. Too many negative scores mean none of the promised discounts at renewal. More Than win - we lose... Will certainly be looking elsewhere in May. Reviewed on: 1st March 2017

young drivers stay away!! they use and abuse your good nature!!the cheap price is eye catching but in the long run, they scam you!! please read through all comments DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY fourth time they stated they want to cancel me with NO VALID REASON!! More than more scam no rules they just seem to make them up

My son passed his test last June 2016 got more than smart wheels insurance. all fine with scores for 3 weeks then he got a -10 for speed. Rang up he thought he was in 40 zone but was a 30 oops ok the score has taken ages and ages to go up even though he's scored a constant +10 every journey for months. Then usage went down to 3.2 I rang it apparently does this automatically after 6 journeys.. which I kind of knew but when he stalled it on the way home on his 6th journey bang!! Usage 3.2. Smoothness varies depending how he drives some days it's low and he can't understand why some days it's 10 and he can't believe it as he had to slam on cos a car pulled out on him... I've spoken to more than numerous times and to be honest they are not forthcoming with the rules.. one time coming home from college there was a major event on the M62 so everywhere was gridlocked it was the 2nd journey of the day and an 8.4mile trip this took 1 hour 35 minutes as traffic bad... Usage 3.2 I rang they said journeys over an hour will be penalised... Next long delay I told him to pull over and switch off before the hour came up.... He did this. Strangely this didn't register ignition off so usage again down to 3.2. I rang they couldn't understand this.. I said it registers a new journey when he stalled making his 6th trip 7 but not when he pulls over... No answer from them... So after numerous phone calls and trials by my son these are the facts.. 1, if you do more than 6 journeys within 24 hours your usage goes down 2, if you drive for over 62 minutes your score goes to 8.3 after 63 minutes it's 5.6 after 64 minutes it's 3.2 even if it's your first journey. 3 if you switch off and on after about 45 minutes of driving knowing you will be queueing for more than the hour it rarely registers a new trip. 4 if you drive anytime between 11pm and 5am you'll get hammered though I haven't managed to test if this is incremented say after 10pm you'll get 8.3 usage or whatever... But I'm sure judging by the rest of the rules I know about they will hammer you for this too 7. the 24 hour driving period doesn't have a start and end time it's a rolling 24 hours eg. you set off to work Monday 7.45 am that's 1 you go to shop for lunch that's 2 you go back to work that's 3 you drive home but stop for fuel that's 4 you've got fuel and go home that's 5 the next morning it's icy so you start your car at 7.20 to defrost and set off that's 6 journeys then you call at shop on the way to work at 7.35 that's 7 then you continue to work effectively on your 8th journey within 24 hours... Your usage will be 3.2 or less by doing nothing at all wrong. These are facts I've learned and I'm still waiting for them to call me back when he got 3.2 usage on his 5th journey within 24 hours... They couldn't explain that one and were supposed to call me back last week.. Hope this helps some of you Regards.
