More than more scam no rules they just seem to make them up

My son passed his test last June 2016 got more than smart wheels insurance. all fine with scores for 3 weeks then he got a -10 for speed. Rang up he thought he was in 40 zone but was a 30 oops ok the score has taken ages and ages to go up even though he's scored a constant +10 every journey for months. Then usage went down to 3.2 I rang it apparently does this automatically after 6 journeys.. which I kind of knew but when he stalled it on the way home on his 6th journey bang!! Usage 3.2. Smoothness varies depending how he drives some days it's low and he can't understand why some days it's 10 and he can't believe it as he had to slam on cos a car pulled out on him... I've spoken to more than numerous times and to be honest they are not forthcoming with the rules.. one time coming home from college there was a major event on the M62 so everywhere was gridlocked it was the 2nd journey of the day and an 8.4mile trip this took 1 hour 35 minutes as traffic bad... Usage 3.2 I rang they said journeys over an hour will be penalised... Next long delay I told him to pull over and switch off before the hour came up.... He did this. Strangely this didn't register ignition off so usage again down to 3.2. I rang they couldn't understand this.. I said it registers a new journey when he stalled making his 6th trip 7 but not when he pulls over... No answer from them... So after numerous phone calls and trials by my son these are the facts.. 1, if you do more than 6 journeys within 24 hours your usage goes down 2, if you drive for over 62 minutes your score goes to 8.3 after 63 minutes it's 5.6 after 64 minutes it's 3.2 even if it's your first journey. 3 if you switch off and on after about 45 minutes of driving knowing you will be queueing for more than the hour it rarely registers a new trip. 4 if you drive anytime between 11pm and 5am you'll get hammered though I haven't managed to test if this is incremented say after 10pm you'll get 8.3 usage or whatever... But I'm sure judging by the rest of the rules I know about they will hammer you for this too 7. the 24 hour driving period doesn't have a start and end time it's a rolling 24 hours eg. you set off to work Monday 7.45 am that's 1 you go to shop for lunch that's 2 you go back to work that's 3 you drive home but stop for fuel that's 4 you've got fuel and go home that's 5 the next morning it's icy so you start your car at 7.20 to defrost and set off that's 6 journeys then you call at shop on the way to work at 7.35 that's 7 then you continue to work effectively on your 8th journey within 24 hours... Your usage will be 3.2 or less by doing nothing at all wrong. These are facts I've learned and I'm still waiting for them to call me back when he got 3.2 usage on his 5th journey within 24 hours... They couldn't explain that one and were supposed to call me back last week.. Hope this helps some of you Regards. A bunch of scammers

My daughter took car insurance out with this company as they seemed reasonable on the comparison websites but little did we know that we would be robbed of her hard earned money!!! She had a black box fitted then less than 3 months into the policy we had an email and letter to say her policy was being cancelled due to speeding. I was in the car with my daughter at the the black box recorded this false information and NO WAY was she SPEEDING!!!!!!! They cancelled her policy but two days before it was due to be cancelled they took another monthly payment which we have no refund for and cancellation charges to pay on top. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE SCUM WHO RIP YOUNG DRIVERS OFF. Now my daughter cannot afford to insure her car as the premiums are sky high to the policy being cancelled. Absolutely appalling

Words can't describe how angry this insurer has made me. I pay 1700 to insure my car with a black box. The black box then goes ahead to give me negative scores for driving at night. I will start the day with a positive score, I drive for the day, get positive scores for that day, and then my overall score will suddenly become a negative... I called the customer service team about this; they were useless. They were rude, didn't atall listen to my complaint and didn't didn't know atall what they were doing. Honestly so disgusted that as a 17year old I pay this much for insurance and get the treatment I did. Reviewed on: 12th January 2017

Joke company! Hating every minute!!

This is my first year driving and the only reason I picked this 'insurer' for my 2002 1.4 skoda fabia was because of the initially low insurance of £1600 per year with a black box. Little did I know until my measly 4000 miles were practically gone that I was going to be paying £300 per 1000 miles purely because of my driving score being low! I drove like a saint in my first few months as I was new and wanted a good driving score only to realise no matter what I did the score remained negative and just slowly got worse.... Judging by everyone else's reviews about driving score and conning people and cancelling their insurance with charges the list goes on I think more than needs to be investigated by watchdog because they clearly aren't in the business of helping new drivers just robbing them! I have spent £2500 in the space of this year now because of extra miles which has left me financially struggling at awkward times of the year only to find out my sister passed her test and got a 2001 1.2 KA insured with ingenie for £1200 with a black box, 10,000 miles, breakdown cover, courtesy car and she actually gets rewarded for her driving! I feel genuinely robbed by this insurance and the only reason I am sticking with these con artists is to complete the year and get my no claims so I don't have to start all over again with expensive insurance from a joke company such as more than smart car. BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE USING THIS INSURANCE HONESTLY DONT DO IT YOUVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!! Reviewed on: 6th January 2017

DISHONEST, SCAM OF A COMPANY!!

DISHONEST, RIP OFF COMPANY!! passed my test 1st august 2016 and took a policy out with them the same day. They came back cheapest on comparethemarket.com. when i did my quote on comparethemarket.com i added my farther as a SECOND driver on MY car. The total cost was around £118 a month after a deposit of almost £700. I clicked to prociede and my dad who has meen driving 25 years and done policies online for years checked i had done everything legally and correctly. He spent an hour going over everything tripple checking it and needed to make no changes. We clicked to take the policy out and paid what we needed to pay and boom my car was insured. They then sent a letter and email after the 14 days cancelation period saying i had apparantly put i had three years no claims?! I never did, not even for my dad. They wacked an extra almost £900 on top of the policy making monthly payments almost £200 per month! They took the next payment of almost £200 anyway even though i argued it was a fault still on their part as little did they know i screen shotted everything when we did the policy. They blamed comparethemarket for the error still but no return of the extra they took off me which i was relient for other bills which left my account overdrawn! I then moved house and rung to change my address and they wacked an extra £1000 onto my monthly payments making them unafordable! I had no choice but to cancle my policy with immediate affect and sell my car due to also loosing my job through pregnancy! They calculated the cancelation fee to be £270 to which i agreed to pay. They told me they would contact me within 14 days to take payment but never did nor did they take payment even though it sat there for 9 weeks!! I have now just had a phone call from a dept company chasing me for this money that i now dont have due to having a baby due in 12 weeks! They also took over three weeks to fit the black box, gave me falce appointments to which i waited in for a total of 9 days for them to not turn up and tell me they had no appointments that day. Finally on the 10th day they came out first thing and fit the box. Thes stress really is not what i need being heavily pregnant!! and yes i am a young driver. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!!!!! Great custermer service and easy to use website

I signed up to car insurance from more than and I was very happy with the price I got. The website was also excellent for managing my account and when I spoke to customer service to ask if they could send my document they were very polite and sorted me out. No Problems

I have held a policy with More than for possibly ten years now. When I bought a second car they mirrored my full no claims bonus on the NEW policy. Fantastic!! The company have always been helpful on the phone too. Reviewed on: 8th December 2016

46% Car Insurance Increase after a NON FAULT ACCIDENT

My premium has risen by 46% because I have had a Non Fault Accident. I queried why my premium had risen and was told that it always rises on having an accident and she also told me I only had a 2 star policy. Don't know what this means as I have a fully comp car policy with maximum No Claims Discount. Last time I insure with them!! Reviewed on: 7th December 2016

Telematic box...???

As a fresh on the road driver, £1595 for the year based on an estimated 5000 miles is brilliant to be honest. However the rate was lower due to the fact that i had a telematics box fit. Which is what im ranting about. Having a box fitted is fine in my eyes, if i speed i should lose points, it makes sense if i drive at midnight im more likely to have an accident simply due to the fact its midnight, i live in bradford and as sad as it is people do still drink drive. However, the only time i use my car i am on my way to work (which i am in no rush to) or doing the daily runs when i am almost guaranteed to have my 19 month child in the car, so its assured i will not speed or drive like a dingbat. My eyes are constantly on the road, mirrors and speedometer. Honestly im that safe of a driver, if you found yourself behind me you would be frustrated because i follow the rules to the T. I indicate when nobody is around, i almost come to a hault at empty roundabouts etc.. When i check my 'driving style' on my more than car insurance i have found that the score is completely incosistent. The score is based on speed smoothness and usage. I have personally tested this at the risk of losing points on it, and i have found it is stupidly incosistent. My route to work consists of passing around 18 speed camera's (ive counted) i set off and get home at the same time almost every day yet the drive felt smooth and fine, but i kept losing points? Ive gone over the speed limit on purpose once just to test the box, lost no points.... ive drove absoultely perfect (not tooting my own horn haha) and lost points... i cannot make sense of how its scored at all. I can only assume its fixed after trying to calculate for endless hours why im losing points for perfect drives and losing points for bad drives. Reviewed on: 4th December 2016
