If you’re eligible for an overdraft, the first £50 is interest free. The FlexDirect account has to be managed online or over the phone, not at the branch.

Trusted bank with an ethical mindset

Nationwide is a trusted bank. I switched away from Nationwide a few years ago to take advantage of a switching bonus but I regretted doing it as Nationwide had better customer service. I also preferred Nationwide's status as a building society and passing on profits to members rather than stakeholders. Reviewed on: 17th January 2025

Those 6 holes in the signature Strip!!

Those 6 holes in the signing strip on the new FlexDirect card!! What a bloody stupid place to put them! They catch the ball on your ball point pen when signing and send your signature for six. Such a simple design fault from a company that have been using them for years. I am lost for words! Totally ruined my day and the next 5 years I have to look at it each day! Remembering how the ball point got stuck in one of the holes, the card shooting off, my coffee all over the place and my signature looks like it has been made by a 9 year old trying to fake it!! It's hard enough to sign in that little box without the holes! Fancy putting them where you have to sign??!! I bet the designers had a good old laugh together coming up with that idea. Great account that pays back.

2 years in a row I have recieve £200 just for having her account. The removal of the need for the keypad has also greatly increased the user experience. The arranged overdraft also means I know I'm covered if the need comes (not that I recommend using it) Reviewed on: 21st November 2024
