Corporate greed at its worst

1
Been a loyal customer for over a decade. Paid every month in full by DD. Booked and paid for return flights UK/Bangkok with card. Flew out on 11th Feb. Fell seriously ill on 17th. Advised to change flight date and return to UK ASAP. Contacted UK agent who demanded an admin fee of £1145 to change the date. Either pay up or stay in Thailand and face the consequences. ‘Blackmail’ at its cleverest, eh? Paid by PO CC and flew home next day. Next full week under strict GP medication and rest. Contacted Post Office CC Customer service. Told to send overview letter and docs to prove Flight change date etc. Did so and asked for the payment to be challenged and refunded. From that moment everything went downhill. Back and forth emails and telephone calls to no avail. Result...Post Office refuse my legitimate claim and threaten to impose more interest and late payment fees. Deal with the Bank of Ireland at your peril. Decency and what is right is not part of their system. By the way, I am 86 years of age and never, ever, owed a penny to anyone in my life. Reviewed on: 3rd June 2020

Very poor disgusting customer Service does not warrant 1 star

1
Please do not ever take out a post office credit card as they will try and make money out of you at any costs and they do not even tell you when they remove a 0% balance transfer rate and start charging interest and in their words they do not have to tell you they have done it. Also the customer service complaints department is very rude they offer no customer service at all. Reviewed on: 15th May 2020

Ignore fraudulent use of card

1
I already notified this credit card company about an unauthorised transaction a month ago. Now today I receive my April statement with the same company taking another fraudulent payment from my account. Working like crazy in the NHS and generally companies going out of the way to help us. These just put additional hurdles in the way. POST OFFICE GET RID OF BANK OF IRELAND FROM MANAGING YOUR CREDIT THEY ARE APPALLINGLY USELESS Reviewed on: 28th April 2020

get the simple things wrong, repeatedly

1
When i opened the account they set it up with the wrong date of birth, took months to get it sorted, customer service unhelpful. After my name changed they can't change my name on there website so always shows old name. Set up a direct debit which didn't go through but saved my bank details on there system. When i had to get my name changed and date of birth corrected, I had to send a letter, with no proof, seemed very insecure and received no confirmation either time that it had been updated. Every time I've spoken to customer service they haven't really helped and come across a bit rude/ not bothered Reviewed on: 17th April 2020

Could not care less

1
Been a loyal customer for over a decade. Pay full monthly balance, never failed. Was ‘blackmailed’ into paying £1145.00 when falling ill abroad in February and had to change flight return date in an emergency. Loads of seats on aircraft. Reported full facts to Post Office Credit Card bank in Ireland. No acknowledgement (only the bill) No email contact allowed. Phone lines engaged for hours. When finally connecting, staff totally unhelpful. Refused to ‘block’ the contested £1145.00. Told the full DIRECT DEBIT payment would be taken. Also told (by a person who’s spoken English was abysmal) that she had no way of contacting the claims s department. Remember what the American Airline captain announced to his passengers...”This is your captain-speaking, we are about to land in Ireland, please put you watches back two hundred years.” Reviewed on: 27th March 2020

Compassion is not their speciality

1
Paid my card on the due date at 8pm and received a late payment fee, their day ends at 6pm and not midnight which it does for everyone else. More recently on a separate issue I recieved a letter about persistent debt, the information it contained failed to take into consideration the latest update from the FCA, but they didnt care about that and said they didnt know anything about it. I reported this to the FCA who took note and said the post office had been notified along with all the other companies. Reviewed on: 10th March 2020

dreadful customer service

1
Had my card refused in Singapore when I had plenty of credit available. Wrote to them on 5th December 2019 for an explanation and still waiting for a reply on 14th January 2020. It's not possible to contact them on their website by secure message and when you select "contact us" from the sitemap it loops you to a page selling credit cards and then back to your original page. This card is as bad as the ASDA card whose customer service dept is complete chaos. There are plenty of cards with decent customer service available so I shall be closing my account at the end of the month. Reviewed on: 14th January 2020

customer service form the dark ages and an app to match

1
It's baffling how the PO can get this so wrong. The app looks like it was designed by a 2 year old in a dark room and the customer service is so laid back it's horizontal. Reviewed on: 8th January 2020

Worst credit card company

1
they looked me with lay payment fees 3 times. I have set up a direct debit for a payment to go in time. However they were unable to set it up in time and charged me later payment fees few times. Please don't go for them. Reviewed on: 21st July 2019

Not talking direct debit

1
I assumed when i set up a direct debit that the money would be taken regularly every month regardless. I was surprised to find my balance was not going down as I had paid extra, over & above my direct debit to pay card off. I realised they were not taking my direct debit, when I questioned this the adviser said if you pay any thing off your account your direct debit is canceled out. What a good way to encourage people to get into debt! The customer adviser was very curt, offhand and not helpful at all. I will be getting rid of this card ASAP & will never use them again. So be careful if you have a direct debit & check your balance regularly Reviewed on: 15th July 2019
