Glad I’m soon leaving.

Awful experiences most of the time. In making simple transactions in the bank the queues are disgusting. Staff stood around waiting for queue to get bigger before then serving. Security questions great but the incessant questions going way beyond are unnecessarily intrusive. Branches shutting down and basic things can’t be done in the machine and needs queuing for. Then having to repeat things over and over again because of lack of listening. Just overall never been a good experience with this bank. Glad I moved banks for most of my savings. Total lack of support particularly in times of great need, even when you've been with the bank as a loyal customer for 33+ years. Whilst the Santander boots rewards is an added bonus, the costs of facilitating the use of a much needed overdraft are utterly exorbitant. Reviewed on: 9th March 2023

Assisted The Scam of Vulnerable Pensioner then refused to refund

Purchased a item online after doing all relevant checks but turned out to be a scam with payments made through their payment system. Santander refused to class it as a scam before the goods did not arrive then once the goods did not arrive their investigation concluded that I should have known it was a scam before the purchase and held me liable for the payment. They did not pursue the scammers and the investigators made their conclusions based on my age (I'm 74) rather than asking what checks I had made. Despite my husbands recent death which blocked our account (easiest way to complain) they refused to provide a complaints email and didn't send through phone transcripts that were promised when I had no option but to complain by phone. Wholly deserve their 1 star for terrible and dishonest customer service Reviewed on: 23rd February 2023
