Review of the Santander, Cash ISA:

I won't be using Santander again.

I won't be using Santander again. Firstly, the website looks like something from the late 90's. Strangely, the 'Close my account' button doesn't work. They are also obsessed with fraud prevention, with regular emails being sent and relentless security messages every time you want to transfer any money. Reviewed on: 12th May 2024

Mismanaging your money

I opened my second Santander ISA, having been a regular saver into my home savers issue 1 account. I opened the product over the phone after enquiring in my local branch. After discussing all products open to me with an advisor, I my decision at home. However, i now wish to close the account and put the funds into my current account as part of a house deposit I am due to pay on a recent purchase. Despite my loyalty to Santander I am encountering problems in doing so. I am being pushed into a mortgage interview I do not want to have. I already have a mortgage in place and are near exchange, but this is falling on deaf ears. I have also only now discovered it is a postal isa and thus am apparently required to apply in writing to get the money. It is a relatively small amount I wish to have access to and I am becoming exasperated by the whole process. I am also being sent endless volumes of account summaries and current balances on all of my accounts. There are Santander letters everywhere in my house! Reviewed on: 29th April 2015

MOUNTAINS OF PAPER!

I opened a Santander ISA accounts a few years ago (online). Although I have never deposited any funds into this account I seem to be getting a high volume of paper from them...telling me my balance is £0, or that rates are going down etc...surely in this digital age, there's a better way of communicating with me!
