Santander have a range of ISAs with a choice of fixed rates and variable rates.

The Santander Easy Access ISA needs a minimum deposit of £500 to open the account. Santander offer a one year or two year fixed rate ISA. You can manage your account via telephone banking, branch or by online and mobile banking.

Family friendly flexible approach but could be smarter

I absolutely love Santander and have a number of different product with them but the account I use the most is the current 123 account. However access to it via the app it easy but could be a lot smarter. For instance, there isn't a running total for the account on the app so it's impossible to see what impact a withdrawal has had on your overall sum. This is frustrating as I've not had this issue with my Halifax app or the Natwest one. I'm sure it would be a simple fix to do for the app just to make it a bit more fit for purpose. Absolutely terrible return.

Absolutely terrible return. Lost £400 over 4 year period despite other competitors making a good return. Could have made £5,200 on a cash ISA. Obviously their investing department are only interested in the fees. Never again! Reviewed on: 16th March 2025

A huge mistake

Since I was already a Santander customer I foolishly decided to invest a large lump sum in one of their stocks and shares ISAs at low to medium risk. Since then I have watched the fund shed its value and sink to a level from which it has remained virtually static showing no signs of ever recovering. Why am I paying fees for this? Steer well clear. Santander - worst stocks and shares ISA imaginable.

I won't be using Santander again.

I won't be using Santander again. Firstly, the website looks like something from the late 90's. Strangely, the 'Close my account' button doesn't work. They are also obsessed with fraud prevention, with regular emails being sent and relentless security messages every time you want to transfer any money. Reviewed on: 12th May 2024

Dishonest

Almost one year later and Santander have still not fulfilled their T&Cs – I’m still owed a £50 voucher for an ISA transfer over to them. I have followed this up with them multiple times with still no luck in them fulfilling their obligations. The time and effort involved is not worth the £50 I am trying to retrieve. They also make it incredibly difficult to contact them – no option of an email. Instead you have to wait a stupid amount of time to be connected to someone on the phone. You have to go through a ridiculous automated process and just try your luck to get connected to an actual human being. I will move my ISA next month and never bank with Santander again Reviewed on: 20th March 2024
