Starling Bank Review: A Stellar Banking Experience I've been a Starling Bank customer for a while now, and I can confidently say it's been a breath of fresh air in the world of banking. From its sleek app interface to its genuinely helpful customer service, Starling consistently impresses. One of the standout features for me is the app itself. It's incredibly intuitive and easy to navigate. Everything is at your fingertips, from checking your balance and making payments to setting up direct debits and managing your spending. The real-time notifications are a game-changer, giving you instant updates on every transaction. I also love the "Spaces" feature, which allows you to easily separate your money for different goals, like holidays or bills. It's a fantastic way to stay organized and in control of your finances. Beyond the app, Starling's customer service is truly exceptional. I've had a couple of queries over time, and each time I've contacted them, the response has been prompt, friendly, and helpful. They actually seem to care about their customers, which is a rare find these days. Whether I've reached out via the app or on the phone, the experience has always been positive. Starling also offers a range of other useful features, including free instant transfers, no fees for using your card abroad, and integrated budgeting tools. They’re constantly evolving and adding new features, which shows they’re committed to providing the best possible banking experience. In a nutshell, Starling Bank has completely changed my perception of banking. It's convenient, user-friendly, and backed by a fantastic customer service team. Best UK bank by far

After switching from my brick and mortar bank to Starling a couple years ago I don't even know how I was surviving before. Far better than any of the brick and mortar banks, and personally I prefer it to the Monzo app. You can do everything in minutes from the app, and customer service is almost immediate, I've never had a problem that wasn't solved that day. Fully recommend switching, and with CASS you just can't lose. Reviewed on: 19th January 2025

Once great now terrible

I was really pleased with starting bank but since they will remove interest payments from their current account next year it's now no different from any other bank account. The spaces were super helpful but now you won't earn interest they might be helpful for in month spending but not saving. You can have a single easy saver but you'd need to lump savings together. As I understand it, the kite account also won't earn interest so again less attractive for a kids account as one of the key lessons or to encourage them to save and earn interest. The app is fine - some bits I don't get on with eg not having a running balance summary (it's just the transactions and a current balance) but it was liveable. With the changes it's made a great bank account option now defunct. Reviewed on: 22nd December 2024

Best app-only current account provider by far.

Best app-only current account provider by far. Most of what I need, incl. foreign currency transaction are free. The app is fantastically easy to use, and whenever I've had to reach out to them, service has been great. Reviewed on: 24th November 2024

Easy to Use & Superb Service

It's been a great current account for everyday use with a user-friendly UI, in-account interest and superb customer service. It also doesn't have annoying ads to lure you to upgrade; no feature is behind paywall and I do believe this is the right way to bank. Reviewed on: 24th November 2024

positives and negatives - 70/30

POSITIVES- Great user friendly interface, a quick access to view your card details - one click (Halifax takes a few steps), unlimited pots to store money in (not save - no interest), no problems with the app being out of service (which happened at least 30 times in a 12 month period when I had Chase), customer service via messaging which is quick at replying. You can have different spending pots to pay straight out of for payments. NEGATIVES- low interest rate in the savings pot which is available, problem opening a kite account as my they didn’t accept the official form of name change (no problem with Halifax, Doctors surgery, School, council etc) Reviewed on: 22nd November 2024
