Starling Bank - Bank of The Year!

Very good terms, service and options within the account itself.Cost of running account very little. Reliable and professional service, can’t ask for more. The option of spaces gives great opportunity to safe money, manage the funds, manage the bills well. I’ve been using Starling Bank for a while now, and overall, I’ve had a really positive experience. The app is intuitive and easy to navigate, making everyday banking straightforward and stress-free. I especially appreciate the instant spending notifications and the ability to categorise expenses, which helps me stay on top of my finances. Customer service has also been reliable whenever I’ve needed support, with quick responses and helpful advice. Features like fee-free spending abroad and budgeting tools add real value compared to traditional banks. If I had to point out a downside, it would be that some more advanced services (like certain types of loans or in-branch support) aren’t available, but that’s expected from a fully digital bank. Down the drain

Starling used to be good but over the years they just increasingly worse. They are actively unhelpful, showcased by the most recent treatment of customers, where Starling refused to process chargebacks, causing customers to launch complaints via the Financial Ombudsam - instead of offering simple help that most other banks done successfully. We all cannot wait for the complaint to close so we can leave. Reviewed on: 22nd March 2026
