Very happy

This bank does it all for me. Security, ease of use, and incredibly quick updates to your transactions. There have been one or two issues over the months I have been with them but as someone else wrote, it is in beta after all. Support has been very helpful and quick. I used the account swapping service and it was very easy. I think these new kinds of bank seem to be more aimed at the younger generation, but I am in my fifties and find it very easy to use. Incredibly simple, effective banking with great customer service

Sometimes you have to pinch yourself to remember there's a bank behind the app - isn't it all too good to be true? No, not really. The operational side of things is slick, efficient and effective - it holds your money, lets you spend it and pays you interest on your balance. Bingo! The app makes things simpler still with expenditure reporting etc. that you'd expect from all new challenger banks. Customer service is warm, friendly, unhurried and unflappable and everything's done in the palm of your hand. Genius. Reviewed on: 26th October 2017

Awful. Terrible customer service

Horrible experience with this "bank" poor customer service when things go wrong. Lack of knowledge or ability to work as a bank for customers. Firstly a cash withdrawal failed yet they took the funds from me leaving me short of money for around a week then returned it after alot of chasing but no real apologies or explanation. Then I have issues of someone fraudulently trying to take money back from me to which starling responded with blocking me from using my account, blocking me sending money from my starling account to a real bank! And then reflecting my balance as zero and basically making my cash dissaper for a while. Then after again lots of contact to their one advisor at a desk with no access to any knowledge or info style customer service team or lack of, they kindly told me they are closing my account and no longer providing me with a service. Seems a couple of issues are too much for this so called challenger bank so their response is to simply close your account with immediate effect and leave you stranded! Where as if this was my real bank on the high street they would instantly do all they can with a wealth of experience and knowledge and multiple teams to assist and resolve problems. Not starling though, if something goes wrong and they get a little confused or unsure they will gladly throw your custom far away from them to avoid actually helping you. Avoid at all costs, looks fantastic, feels Fantastic at first but then when you have any sort of problem they won't want to know you! Reviewed on: 14th August 2017

It's the future

Sure, it's not perfect, but it's still a beta app after all. I found account opening incredibly easy, like almost too easy, and switched my main current account not long after. The app is of course, great, and the rate at which development and new features are being added is genuinely exciting after having been with legacy banks for the past 20years. The things they have in the pipeline seem to have the customer experience in mind which is 100% what I'm looking for in a bank. Customer service hasn't always been 5/5 but it's getting there. i love to recommend starling to friends and family and hope they drag the incumbents into the future! Reviewed on: 2nd August 2017

Starling is the ultimate in banking apps. On line only so should appeal to the youngsters. I am 69 years old and I find it superb. Have a go you have nothing to lose. Reviewed on: 24th June 2017

I love this new bank

New banks come across quite rarely, and one that innovates like Starling is even rarer. Starling is an app only bank, and their only product at present is a current account. By being app only, they are able to focus on creating new features. For example, instead of creating a savings account product, they are reinventing the savings account product by creating a 'goals' feature as part of the current account. So rather than move money into my savings account each month, the money remains in the current account but is allocated against my particular savings goals. I can still access the 'goal funds', but am given a warning before I access that money. Reviewed on: 24th June 2017

Up and running

Got my card and completed the banking switch. All done with no drama and very speedily. When needed the comms have been good. Need to take a leaf from Monzo and set up a community discussion area to generate buzz. Early days for the app. Because the focus has so far been on getting current accounts out there, the app isn't feature rich. Wait and see..... Reviewed on: 27th May 2017
