If you have a credit card and an an app but are locked out of your account they are not open 24/7 to unlock your app, not even on a Sunday. If u are in a tight spot rubbish, I was absolutely 100% sure I had used the right password - my wedding anniversary been married 26 years and now locked out went online to try and log in there and not 100% sure of password and now locked out - chose a company with 24/7 customer service please, looking to switch , was messed around on phone told incorrect information ie was open 24/7 so wasted a lot of time ! Overall poor in multiple areas

My experience with Virgin Money has been poor. I tried to do a money transfer (promotional rate) on my credit card and it was incorrectly flagged as fraudulent. The only way to resolve this was over the phone as they locked me out of the app. This took 42 minutes in total, being on hold for most of it and I ended up being passed around various times, speaking to 3 different people. In the end my issue was resolved, but the money transfer will now take another 2 business days to reach my account. Very frustrating delay as other providers are much faster with a single business day turnaround. What should have been an easy thing turned into a big annoyance for no valid reason. If Virgin had the right procedures in place, I could have confirmed my details in their app rather than being on hold for close to an hour. I wouldn't recommend this company. I regret even trying the money transfer in the first place as I fear I will have to phone them up again for any further issues. Hopeless

At present sitting on the phone for 1hour 11minites and 12 seconds while the operator checks with his "specialist". Nobody in their right mind would ever try ringing Virgin without having something else to do so you don't waste your time while waiting. I thought they were bad when they were handles by MBNA but they have manged to surpass even their incompetence. No 1h 15m 10s!!!! M. Reviewed on: 6th October 2022

awful, just awful

I had a virgin atlantic credit card for many years. My wife and I spent around £5K per month on it, clearing the balance by direct debit. You would think that would make them want to keep our custom but their online service was so shockingly bad that we had to switch. Kept on hold for hours on end and when you get through the information given is incorrect. Now with American express and they're really super. Reviewed on: 4th October 2022

Absolutely the worst customer service

Never take their credit card out if you care even 0.0000000000000001% about customer service. It's actually amazing how bad their customer service is considering they're based in the Western world in first world countries. Absolutely terrible they way you're treated if you want to use the chargeback or section 75 claim. You're treated as if you are coming fraud and the fact that you 'can't' claim online is just ridiculous in the paperless age. They still have to send paper forms out so of course, you can't attach any proof unless you have a printer. Then it takes months before you hear anything. Probably every other company does a claim online or over the phone and you hear back so quickly! It's like virgin credit card customer service are just manned by one person who doesn't know what they're doing. I had to create an account to leave this review, that's how bad this company is. Worst customer care experience of my life

Your money that you trust them to look after disappears and then you can’t get anyone to help. IF YOUR THINKING OF OPENING ANY ACCOUNT WITH THESE, THEN DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND DONT. They are very difficult to get hold of and then when you speak to someone they hang up or lie and promise callbacks that never happen. DOROTO is one such member of staff, been waiting two weeks for a callback promised within 48 hours. Then when I contact her she hasn’t done anything to look into it for me. This company don’t even respond to formal complaints. An absolute disgrace of a bank. There are a lot of much better banks around. They couldn't even get to the phone!

I was pre-approved for this card and wanted to take advantage of the balance transfer. They decided that they need to talk to me to clarify a few points maybe. So I rang 20mins later still no one to take my 0800 call on my mobile is 11p per minute, twenty minutes later no thanks and hung up. Tried again packed it in at 7 minutes,exactly the same. Personally I don't even want you to extend me any credit anymore, as your bank have proved that your staff are over worked and there aren't enough of them to deal with phone calls,let alone money transfers. May well have dodged a bullet there according to other reviews. Reviewed on: 12th August 2022

frustrating

I wanted to pay my credit card in full. Person who answered phone presented as having real difficulties understanding English. I asked several times for her to slow down her speech and repeated many times relevant information. When I asked about the balance she stated 21435 which increased my anxiety since I know this is not correct and I do not owe thousands. When I explained about communication problems and asked to speak with someone else who could help me - she replied there is nobody. I then asked to be put through to the complaints department and after waiting some time, confirmed £214.35 balance. There is clearly a training issue here for Virgin employees with telephone communication and needs to be given priority. I should mention this is not the first time this has happened. i got the card downloaded the app but my phone is too old to see my pin . Was told 5 weeks ago I would get a form to fill in to get the PIN still waiting impossible to find the right option on the phone and 1 hour waiting time. Send me a form . Reviewed on: 10th August 2022
