I survived cancer and vowed I'd buy myself a decent car as a present to myself. I needed the money to do this and Zopa were there to provide that money - even though I already had a loan out with them! Zopa gets my vote! Reviewed on: 18th January 2025

My experience with Zopa Bank has been extremely disappointing and stressful. I financed a car through a hire purchase agreement, expecting reliable service and support. However, when the car developed a major fault within a few months, Zopa failed to take responsibility or provide adequate assistance. Despite clear evidence that the car was not of satisfactory quality at the time of purchase, Zopa dismissed my complaints and declined to resolve the issue. Instead of addressing the problem, they focused on technicalities, such as disputing whether I was authorized to have the car inspected. This lack of accountability and customer support was incredibly frustrating. Adding to the stress, Zopa reported missed payments to my credit file while I awaited a decision, severely impacting my credit score. Their approach caused unnecessary hardship during an already difficult time. It was not until the Financial Ombudsman Service intervened that Zopa was forced to take appropriate action, including refunding my payments and resolving the matter with the faulty car. This case highlights Zopa reluctance to act fairly without external pressure. I strongly advise anyone considering Zopa Bank for financial products to think twice. Their customer service and dispute resolution process are inadequate, and their handling of this situation has left me deeply dissatisfied. Reviewed on: 26th December 2024

Poor Service and one the worst someone ever treated me

Prior to speaking to one of Zopa Car Finance staff, I filled an online form Money Supermarket, the car finance company that was recommended was Zopa's Car Finance and I filled the application online and I was pre-approved with 100% guaranteed and I received a text message that one of their staffs will call me. Few minutes after the text I received a call a guy called Dave regarding car finance. As soon as he heard my voice, you could tell he was disappointed, I (guess not the kind of voice or accent Dave can't stand). So, as I was asking a question about a discount deal that Uber and Toyota have at this very moment, I basically asked him if Zopa Car Finance provides car finance to buy car from dealers such as Toyota. He straight concludes we are not going to offer you the finance you looking for. For some reason, Dave seems to be disturb by who I am as a person more than anything else, and has to enforce the power he had even though his approach was very unprofessional. You would expect a company or a business of magnitude Zopa Car Finance to get it right as a business with both their staffs and principles to treat people with dignity, respect and professionalism rather than their personal feelings or dislikes to certain people. If a business is tolerating and accommodating staffs such as Dave who have an inner agenda, you wonder and start questioning whether the business have any ethics and principle or it is there to marginalised certain sections of society. Oh! and Dave told me, after our phone conversation, you will receive a feedback and you can tell us about your experience, which I never received. Well! I wouldn't be surprised, if he withheld the customer feedback so that I wouldn't be able to leave a feedback on his conduct on the phone. There is something dodgy about the bloke. My message is in order to avoid the disappointment, indignity, humiliation, unworthy and how badly I was treated on the phone, I will urge you to avoid Zopa Car Finance, especially Dave.
