Review of the Ageas, Car Insurance:

I hope it's was a teaching experience

A third party car reversed into me, I did every thing right, got details, the third party admitted it was there fault, got witness Details, unfortunately , after the initial quote, via claims fast, (who have been fantastic by the way,) but because the repair was more than the cost of repair, I was past to Ageas, they are rude unhelpful , and plainly not interested, after my first call to them I was breaking my heart , they were so horrid , now because the policy is in my husband name and I am only the named driver they won't even speak to me about it , even though he has already given permission on two occasions, so I have no idea where my car is as it was taken from the original garage , to an Ageas approved garage, all my personal belongings are still in the car. I have a terrible feeling I am going to be left very badly out of pocket by this experience. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

Never again

I apologise for the length of this review but its a long winded experience which is still ongoing. My car got stolen,by some little store, from outside my house early hours of morning on 1st may 2020.24hr claim line said to phone back during office hours which I did.told me I wasn't insured on my comprehensive cover as my autistic daughter was maybe the last known member of household to have seen my single car key attached to my only house key.she can't even remember herself bless her.i then got told that I should've reported her to police for theft as it must've been her who stole my missing keys therefore I'm not covered by my insurance for theft of my vehicle as it was my own fault that some toe rag was flouting the law of lockdown to steal my car which contained a lot of personal items and car paperwork as well as my daughters medication which was all hidden away out of sight and locked.i begged and sobbed for ageas to re consider my claim to which they finally said ok we will cover your claim for vehicle.i was relieved to say the least...even though it took a week to get there.im the one doing all chasing to Ageas and also to find out details of my car, which 2weeks down the line I still know nothing about.at my request to speak to any kind of manager I'm told the same thing over and over..."you can only really deal with your handler"Emily..who I will point out has been very kind. i also had a few conversations with Tracey who was just as kind, but they can only do so much . I made sure that I ticked courtesy car box so if anything should happen to my car I'd not be without transport, just to be told that I'm not entitled to such a luxury item by ageas.also that the small print in my policy says that although I'm insured to drive somebody else's car obviously with permission etc:I'm only allowed to do so if I'm still in possession of the covered vehicle and that it has not been subject to any written off damage and that it has not been a subject of theft...{or something almost exact to that wording}I haven't been informed that my car has been taken from police compound{which apparently it has indeed gone from } let alone where my vehicle is right now...all I'm getting is persistent requests for documents that were in car...oh...and my car key.i don't even know if my car was hotwired or started with the key...im feeling like the criminal and being punished for actions of the vile human who did this to me and my family. I've been recently attending hospital appointments investigating heart problems which could be serious and we live in remote area so my car is needed by myself as well as for making sure that my daughters needs are met and my partner gets to and from work.which is why I needed the courtesy car cover in first place.i have left out so much more than what is in this review. I will also keep this review updated and let people know of the outcome...Deb Tydeman. Reviewed on: 14th May 2020

Hiked my car I insurance by £200 for my renewal.. and that was with no accidents and an extra years no claims! Because I apparently declined paper statements(still disputing) I let it rollover believing that my payments would remain same or go down a little.. like they HAVE done with 5 or 6 previous insurers .. absolute deceiving and theiving company that I fully expect will have done this too many.. Avoid at all costs Reviewed on: 27th April 2020

I was involved in a car accident two years ago with a young speeding driving. I was coming out of James Cook Multi-story car park in Middlesbrough, coming to the give way sign I stopped. Looking right then left and then right again seeing that nothing was coming I started to put my foot onto the accelerator pedal. Only for my sister to shout my name to stop. I did an emergency stop only for the young driver to speed pass taking my full front bumper, two headlights and the radiator with the two parking census left hanging. I set the Dash-Cam footage to Ageas and a week later they got in touch with me informing me it was my fault even the Financial Ombudsmen came down in the insurance side adding the car was still moving and as I was coming out of a side it was my fault even though you could see he was speeding and since then Ageas have informed me it's my fault and admitted Yes we could see he was speeding by the frames going through. He even claimed Whiplash injuries , even though there was a small dent in his car. The dash cams you have to be careful. I had stopped and both the break and clutch pedals were right down on the floor. But because it looked as though I was still moving. It was my fault. I had a sore and bad lower back for months and it took me over eight weeks to get back behind the wheel and drive out of town. The young lad and his two mates got straight back into his car and drove away Reviewed on: 3rd March 2020

I changed my car so advised them, I changed to a smaller, lower insurance less valuable car and they increased the premium from £750 per annum to £1350 per annum. When I asked why they said people can be unused to a new car so are at greater risk........... Reviewed on: 30th January 2020

DISGUSTING

!!!!WARNING!!! DO NOT INSURE WITH THIS COMPANY. after paying into an insurance policy for over 10 years without a single claim. I unfortunately had an accident. Driving along a country road and struck a large piece of concrete. The road was UNSAFE to stop so I decided to continue to safe position to inspect the damage. Unfortunately the car cut out before I made it. Now after 9 weeks of arguements they have reputed the claim. Apparently I should of stopped on a blind 60mph country road. Putting myself and other road users in unnecessary danger. Shame on you Aston Lark & Ageas, I pay over £6000 per year for every type of insurance possible. Which apparently is not worth the paper it's printed on. Reviewed on: 15th January 2020

INSURANCE OR SCAMSURENCE!!

1
WISH THERE WAS LESS THAN 1 STAR.....NEVER BUY ANY INSURANCE POLICY THAT IS COVERED BY THEM.......THEY WILL DO EVERYTHING TO TURN DOWN GENUINE CLAIMS.......IN CASE THEY ACCEPT THEY WILL ONLY PAY HALF THE AMOUNT AS IF YOU PAID ONLY 50% PREMIUM......AVOID THESE SCAMMERS AT ALL COST.........THEY ARE PROFITABLE BY TURNING DOWN GENUINE CLAIMS........SUGGEST YOU GO TO YOUR BANK FOR INSURANCE RATHER THAN THESE THIEFS....
