They treat long term, loyal customers with utter contempt.

I have banked with Barclays for 37 years and my mother for 55 years. They, as an organisation are ever increasingly treating long term loyal customers with utter contempt. The only decent/caring staff that we have encountered are at Branch level and they are closing the local branch. They do everything they can to make their lives easier and don't give two hoots as to the effect on the customers as they are showing on a regular basis. My wife is already changing TSB and if they turn out to be any better, my mother and I will be swapping our private and business account over too. Barclays are clearly only interested in big investors and big borrowers. Everyday folk are clearly just too much trouble, Reviewed on: 22nd August 2022

Care about costumers before they leave

It's so pleasant when after too much trouble caused by barclays we decide to switch to another bank and a week later we get a phone call wanting to discuss the reasons of that. It's even more rewarding being able to say f#*@ you to in reply to this phone call after so many abusive threatening messages that your bank account will be restricted or closed. barclays has lost another costumer and I'm so happy for that Reviewed on: 18th August 2022

Disgusting treatment from Barclays

I've banked with Barclays for nearly sixty years. In spite of significant funds on deposit, a mortgage-free house, and no debts they've decided to withdraw my overdraft facility. The reason? I might buy a house with the funds on deposit. I am utterly disgusted. Needless to say the funds I had with Barclays are now elsewhere and the process of switching my current account has begun. Disgusting treatment of a loyal customer who has been with the bank since 1964

A letter stating my overdraft facility was being withdrawn as I had not used it in a year - actually I was using an overdraft facility of my company bank account with Barclays so didnt need both.Closed the company account and requested a small personal overdraft facility - it was refused - appealed the decision - it was refused again and then the matter was escalated to some higher decision maker who refused it and suggested that I took the matter up with CITIZENS ADVICE ! I will close this account very soon - My son will close both his business and personal account. The way that Barclays treat longstanding customers is awful -they are forgetting that I was only there in the first place because my parents were with Barclays so how much business they will lose from so many disgruntled older customers and their offspring is untold ! Other review sites rate Barclays 45 out of 47 for their service - goodness knows how bad the last two must be .Anyway well done Barclays and good riddance ! Reviewed on: 12th August 2022
